Buying an SA 200 Saturday, my first machine! Thankful for your videos

Thanks for the drawstring tip. Been doing it for years. Small air tools do stop quickly as they have lower inertia and for close quarter grinding may be useful.

I have 500ft of lead on my truck cause i weld on communication towers 😂... it can be pretty miserable up there in winter time especially in North Dakota and what not I'm Nationwide and it has really motivated me to start learning API 1104, your videos are very informative and are helping me mentally prepare for that transition. Even though I'm a good welder I think I need to be a welders hand on the pipeline for a little bit to make that transition smoothly. Thanks for the videos.

Why would leave towers ? That's the same field I'm trying to get in . I did l&a work now I want to weld on them. Subs make way more then pipeliners
@poopasoreass5 жыл бұрын
@@AM-rz8uo How do you break out into that field? Never even heard of it until now.

Do you strictly do "pipeline" welding while traveling or do you do other types of Pipe welding? I.e.plant shutdowns, plants, refinery etc...

Jake when you are going to make a cut with the torch and you mark it with the soapstone do you cut outside of the line or inside of the line?
@OdysseusCentral6 жыл бұрын
It depends which side you measured. Using any cutting tool will give you kerf.
@InoJack6 жыл бұрын
Always cut on the outside or side away from your finished dimension. That gives you some stock to grind/clean up your cut, for a better fit.
@JacobSchofield6 жыл бұрын
Listen to both of those guys always cut on the side that will be be scrap.

how much power do you lose through long leads
@theshadetreewelder35236 жыл бұрын
Ivor Davies well if you increase the wire size of the leads voltage and amperage drop is minimal How much wire size you need is depending on how long your leads are and The maximum amount amperage your machine can put out. I say this because if you do that you have the flexibility to go to full power if needed

I’m sorry but finding the angle of the I beam was a giant waste of time. Get a large flange speed square and put a level on the bottom of it and get the angle and start from short side and flow your angle. Could have saved you 5 mins

While your laughing at us we are laughing right back at you. They paid us damn good to weld that together with stick rod they actually required it. The test was all LH... sorry I forgot you probably have no idea what that means. 7018 low hydrogen rod. Any way have a great Christmas.
