I really wish my parents would've had me watch a documentary like this when I was a child. I was sheltered and very much took for granted my education. I thought school was something that all of us kids were supposed to hate. But it's the key to getting a good job or helping to prepare you to start tour own business. It's a key to staying out of poverty. I would often zone out during class or laugh with classmates during lectures. I wish I could go back and tell my younger self how very valuable getting an education is and how it's important to pay attention.

The education system that we currently have was designed by our corporate overlords to create uniformity and mindless submission to the cult of authority. Those who have gone furthest in its ranks have proven themselves to be the most moldable to the form and the most willing to sacrifice their youth and vitality to this sticks and carrrots/ hamster wheel master's systems of rewards and punishments. Congratulations to the well-trained herds of Lemmings that have been put through this " System" and have become, as Pink Floyd so famously said, " Another brick in the Walll." I only hope that some day, you can ....and will, still be " allowed" the " privilege?" to " retire?".. Or top be " put out to pasture," and at that time, you are still able to live long enough to " enjoy" the " free time" the powers that should not be MAY STILL some day, " allow" you to have. Yes.. IF you were a good little " student\ minion" , then you may..if you live long enough, be granted a brief season with a semblance of "freedom" ... But only when your have paid enough taxes to their fiat fake monetary Ponzi schemes. When you are old enough, and tired enough, and broken down enough, to just quietly accept your fate, and when you are well past the the age to rebel, And when you are too exhausted and too broken spirited to challenge the status quo..... Then, and only then, .may your controllers ALLOW you to actually have enough free time to just sit quietly and deeply THINK about this broken system..and start to legitimately and wisely question your role, your place, in. it. .And only then, when you are no longer a threat to them.. Only THEN.when it is too late.. Will you be allowed d to regret.. But by then, of course, it will useless. But at least you can die with: " nice things".

The family from Bolivia was a wonderful family! So hardworking. The father in the family must be intelligent, he manages to create something out of almost nothing. The contrast to the woman who is unable to support a child is great. She chooses to go through 5 births with five different men in 10 years! Unfortunately, poverty is maintained there. People must be able to afford to give their children a future before they give birth to a child.

@@skinnyzebra8626 Infant mortality has gone way down in the last 50 years. In fact, the overall death rates for even the most impoverished nations are very similar to first world countries (compare the death rates of the Philippines and Switzerland -- Switzerland is slightly higher, actually, /1000). There is simply no excuse for procreating so irresponsibly in these times with vaccines, antibiotics, hygiene, etc. Also, if parents are stretched too thin, they can't give each child the attention or care they deserve or need, which would actually put each kid in more danger of neglect, injury, or disease. Poverty deepens and worsens with each additional kid added to an already poverty-stricken family. The most humane solution for most of the world's problems is to prevent human pregnancies as much as possible, to reduce the number of human births in every country. There are way too many people, and even worse is that there are way too many people being born, too quickly. This needs to stop.

Where does it start, where does it end. Its a never ending cycle. Btw. Even if they go to school, statistically, they end up the same as their parents. Only a very miniscule number actually has an progression.

Even on out worst day. We still don't realise how good we have it, compared to these people. They really need to hand out birth control free. Secret is a beautiful young girl. I hope she can get an education. I pray someone from the production company paid for it. It was quite cheap. She deserves something out of this.

How can we sponsor students around the world? Instead of wasting time judging the poorest among us, how ca we help?

The poor will always be with us. Humans..are as greedy as any other created being.. But they are also..paradoxically, the only ones capable of altruism. And mankind is also the only created ones who are endowed with free will and intellect. They can utilize this free will to battle the base instincts of survival of the fittest...to battle greed and selfishness. It does nothing to be aulturistic..from.an a Nihilistic stand point. But we were not evolved by meaningless nothingness snd blind chance..We were created divinely with a purpose and a plan. Humans are yhe worst And yet the best They are they.. The very pinnacle of Creation.. If we only so choose to be. At least we have a choice. A dog can not choose not to eat a dirty diaper..if it sees excrement..it will eat it.. It will return to its own vomit. We can not judge the dog. But if a human did that.. We would be disingenuous to not" judge" We have choices. There are absolutes. There are rights and wrongs It is not relative It is mot cultural. There is an absolute standard of morality We do mot get to set it We do not get to choose it. We care not our own We were created The pot doesn't get to tell The Potter how to make it.. Or criticize The Potter. To say otherwise is a logical fallacy A lion must eat flesh..or it will die It has not yet been made differently. It has no choice. We have choices. Choose wisely.. But remember.. The heart is the most deceptive of all the Organs. Choose neither with your head nor your heart.. But a balance of both With guidance from some part of you that can not be measured, counted, qualified or quantified.. Yet..it exists and is more real, more lasting..more eternal than your head or your heart.. Choose with your Spirit..your Soul.

@@maggiemae7539 you're both right really. Having lots of children CAN be a positive thing but it's also true that the more children you have, the higher the burden. Both financially, physically, emotionally. Which means there's a higher chance that the kids could be neglected etc. So it's more accurate to say that a family having multiple kids adds risk factors that make them *more likely* to struggle than a family with 1 kid. Not a guarantee it'll be a negative thing but just higher risk unless the parents have many resources and a good support system around them

Instead of just potraying the lives of these poor children and families for a documentary! Why didn't you help them and connect them to any charitable organisation international or local that would help them and their families out of their terrible poverty. That should have been the purpose to help them out of this situation as best you can, since you took the trouble to travel to remote poverty stricken places to find them! It's outrageous to me that you just filmed them and then left them. What good is that? 10 years later all 4 girls should have been in a better place and situatuon than when they were born.
@marlenegomes65012 жыл бұрын
They are people, human beings with hearts and souls, not specimens in the wild, for observation as to how they are managing in dire poverty? Shame on you people who filmed this documentary and did nothing to help. You know where they are - go back and make it right. Act like human beings yourselves!

I don't understand, u live in a house with dirt floors no food no nothing u already have 4 boys living under awful conditions and try again for a girl because u want ur daughter to help with house chores, this girl now has to have a future of hunger and neglect. So difficult to comprehend the mentality of such people.
@mse57392 жыл бұрын
Maybe you would understand if you lived there for only a month experiencing u have to do all the housework , take care of your husband who doesnt help around the house and your four boys. They are taught that men have to be served, men dont have to do anything whereas boys and men are to be served by women. In addition stupid religious views dont allow them to use contraception cos its against the will of God.. Well, i hope u manage to get its not about “certain people’s mentality”.
