I am 50 years young and would have loved to have had a video like this to watch when I was pregnant with my son! Many women struggle with the changes of our bodies during pregnancy. Kudos to you for allowing your vulnerability and helping others with the same struggles. God bless you and your family 🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼.

This is exactly what I needed today. I have recently started a plant based journey. I'm a type 2 diabetic on insulin. I'm doing it for my health and we also want to try for a baby. I have always struggled with my weight and I totally relate with the thinking of numbers I am now buying clothes to fit me not trying to fit into numbers. Everyday is a journey and I am so glad I have your posts to watch its motivation and keeps me going

Wow! I really appreciate your honesty. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and it is my first pregnancy. I have had a past eating disorder and the negative thoughts and self talk have crept back due to my changing body. It was so encouraging to see someone, as seemingly put together as you, be honest about the struggles mentally that pregnant women go through. Thank you so much for this video.

I really like your focus on "eat", "move" and "rest". I struggled a lot during all my pregnancies (I am now 21 weeks pregnant with our 3rd boy) with body image (this is kind of personal, but it even affects my sex life) and mental issues, and like you say... One day at a time, trying to do our best. You are not alone, Erin, sending you a big hug and wishing you the best health and luck for your 3rd trimester 💗💗💗

I can relate with this. I’m a first born, perfectionist, and have had my weight go up and down due to looking at the numbers on the scale, clothing size, etc. I can say that switching to eating plant based helped me so much with focusing on nourishment and even after menopause helped me to loose that stubborn almost 10 lbs of weight. Yet I still see my body and pick at the negative parts. My faith helps me to know that I am loved no matter what. Continuing to read the Bible and growing in my faith gets me back to the more important things. It’s a daily habit of doing this.

Hi Erin! I too struggled with body image issues!!! I feel so awful in my body at times and it really prevents me from enjoying time with my family. You are so lucky that you have hope of your vericose veins going away. I have had two kids and got stretch marks that make me so self conscious. My stretch marks with not go away unfortunately. I truly believe that I have body dismorphia and see my flaws amplified. It is hard to hate the skin you are in!!! Thanks for being vulnerable with this struggle!!!

Thank you for posting such a real and brave video. So many people on social media only post the perfect side to their lives and it can really make people feel like they are not good enough, or doing something wrong. It is beyond refreshing to see someone who seemingly has it super together admit that they struggle and that life is not all sunshine and rainbows. I respect and trust those content creators so much more and again, I think you are very strong for doing so. I have also dealt with disordered eating that stemmed from wanting to feel like I was in control of something and struggling with perfectionism. I got things under control after seeking help, but like you, once I became pregnant and could actually keep some things down (im on week 24 and still get morning sickness) I started falling back into old thinking patterns. I have had a really hard time not freaking out about weight gain, even though I know it is 100% natural and expected, and the fact that my body is changing in ways it never has before. I have done my fair share of crying over it, but I continue to remind myself that my body knows what it is doing and in the end as long as my baby boy is healthy and growing as he should, that is all that matters. The negative thought patterns only lead me to misery before and didn't fix anything and I consider recognizing that a huge step in the right direction. Like you said life isnt a straight line, you can take a step back and then take two forward.

This is the kind of conversation that really satisfies me the most, because it creates a connection that goes beyond words, time and space. I feel you! I really see myself in you in the sense that I struggle to gain weight healthily and I also experience a lot of adrenal fatigue. Knowing smart you have done to support yourself and that it has worked for you gives me relief and strengthens my faith that I can achieve it too! I feel similar about some of these, I had an eating disorder for a very long time and felt so relieved and over it for years, but the lockdown and all the stress of this past year threw me back to obsessing about food even if way less so than before. I am trying to be gentle and understanding with myself but it's not always easy. I felt like failing because of these but also feel being humbled by the experience. Healing takes a long time and has different levels. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for talking about this Erin! I have a similar story of weight fluctuation!, I was 240 pounds at the age of 13 and then lost over 100 pounds within like a year and devolved an earring disorder and was hospitalized! I’m in a much better place now (never actually had body image issues though) and have been vegan and healthy for 4 years! Now I am an athlete and still struggle a bit with overexercise but am working on it (if you have any tips I would love to hear)! Anyways, sorry for all that, but I just want to say your health really radiates and your such an inspiration. 💓💓love from Toronto!

Great video. Been there during my 4 pregnancies. I’ve had similar behind the knee vein issues. I found that extending my legs, not sitting cross legged or sitting in bent knee position really helped. I see in the video the way you are sitting may be adding more pressure behind your leg. Not an expert just my personal experience. You are doing an amazing thing sharing your story! Thank you :)

Erin, I hear you. I struggle with body image and just an overall sense of self loathing. Those are harsh words, but I really do. I think the most beautiful feature on a person is a genuine smile, and even though we cant be loving ourselves all the time, we can do the work to try. My rut right now is not moving my body. I developed a foot drop that restricts my walking, and I've alwaya been an active person, but it just seems easier right now to vurl up in a little ball. I know, baby steps back, its just difficult. Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear you have a foot drop and can't be the (exact) same active person you were. It's great you are aware of how it's making you feel...and it's also so great you have determination--with baby steps! 😊 Cheering you on! I kinda related because I was always a fitness/movement minded person then I developed health issues--heart rhythm, etc at the age of 14. I've had ups and downs with my health--many invisible chronic illnesses that nobody can diagnose. But I have had good health the past 10 years! (I'm 42) I have been exercising, losing weight, feeling great, then, out of nowhere I have neurogenic bladder and I have to wear adult diapers. It's crazy when it happens to you...because it's supposed to just be stuff that happens to other people. But I have been striving to stop feeling so down about what I can't control (so hard!) and focus more on the good things in life. Even if my bladder leaking can be fixed or cured, it wouldn't mean something else bad won't ever happen to me. It's a skill to be able to go with the flow (no pun intended) and be good anyhow. 😊 ❤ It certainly has humbled me and reminded me of the important things in life.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Hannah here from Milwaukee Wi! I've followed you since my first time being postpartum. Every single word you have said hit home! I just had my 2nd boy and I'm 3monthes postpartum. I eat a Whole Foods plant based diet for the most part and I thought I'd loose the weight just as fast as with my first pregnancy but that hasn't been the case. So I've been having to be gracious to myself. I remember my pastor asking, "would you have any friends if you said those things to them, you say to yourself?" I always remember that when I start being too hard on myself. And now I definitely want to remind myself it should always be nourishment over weight and calories! Thanks Erin for being so transparent! We love you guys!

Hi hon..thank for sharing what is/was on your heart.I began making some KZbin videos as well, and have that same thought process going through my mind when I'm shooting my videos.. someone will be bored, someone will think I talk too much, someone won't get anything from my videos, etc! You just have to keep pushing yourself as you do, as we do! Because the fact remains, people will get something from our videos, because everything we go through is something that someone else has gone through or is going through as well! Thank you for motivating me to make more videos, and you've encouraged me to share my story of having pre-adolescent anorexia! In fact, I think I will make that the next subject of one of my videos in a few weeks! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful stories. I've never had a baby, but if I had, I certainly would want to watch ALL of your videos on being pregnant, and transforming my body after pregnancy in a healthy way! You have a wonderful information here for so many different people! God bless you!

I just found this video. I appreciate your honesty. Plus, I can very much relate to the body image aspect. I would also say the self esteem gets me. I am 44 and a single mom. But my kids are 26, 22, 15. I have had on and off health issues. The one that really got me was when I developed Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. Over time I have tried different diets and other thing but my weight has gone up and up. I have taken supplements that helped me lose a few pounds here and there. I tried exercise but have not stuck with anything long term because I just felt frustrated. I look at myself now and don’t like how far I have myself get. I have toyed with being plant based. I have given myself a 30 day challenge and to also add exercise again. Sorry it’s long winded. Thanks for listening keep up the good work.

As a ballet dancer I had similar body image struggles. Anorexia and bulimia ruled my life for a while. I'm thankful that God healed my mind before I had my third child because my goodness, I had extra water with him and my stomach stretched so much he gave me diastasis recti! I think you look beautiful pregnant (as well as not pregnant) and even though you are self conscious of your varicose veins I don't think anyone else even sees them. How can they, when your lovely bright smile is the focus point of your person? I always like to enjoy the third trimester , it's the last days that you will have your precious baby on the inside, all to yourself, right by your heart and the last days that you will feel this wonderful movements from the inside. It's truly heavenly, and as I can't get pregnant for some reason .. I really miss that! Enjoy it for me ! God bless!

I was truly moved by this video😢 I am starting out as a food blogger and wanna start doing videos and in the future you tube videos. But I worry how I will look on camera and whether I will be excepted for me and my size/looks etc! Like you I would and still do hide behind black baggy clothes to hide the uncomfortable bits.Take 10 photos to get that just one shot for social media that's gonna be "excepted" I'm an emotional eater so I do really well, then have one bad day and can't get back on track cos I tell myself there's no point etc. Weighting myself is a big no no, as this will spiral me to eat everything I shouldn't and go into a self destruct mode.... I can relate to you on so many points covered in this video, and I appalled you for opening up on a topic that so many of us face everyday and how you concur those challenges with the methods you have adopted to cope with them. Such a brave and important video 💗 I'm at the other end of life...almost 65...and struggling with weight around my middle due to ....who knows what!! I'm trying to figure it out; but it is frustrating and filling up way too much of my brain energy every day. I eat organic whole foods and I practice yoga every morning. I am constantly looking for the missing link. I loved what you said about acknowledging the negative thoughts and letting them pass through us. And I plan on getting the Mirror Work book by Louise Hay. Blessings!

Hallo from Austria! Erin thank you so much for this video! It's been a year since I had my second child and my body is not what it used to be. My elder daughter often comments on how big my belly still is (children's honesty can be harsh sometimes). We all have struggles, but knowing that we're doing our best, even taking it one step at a time, that's all that matters. Society pressure is real, but we appreciate you for who you are, not because of how you look. Sending you love and light 🥰

I have been following you and your family for awhile and love how open you all are. I love watching influencers that are honest about who they are and where they've been. It makes it all seem so much more relatable. I can contest to the self negative talk. I am the smallest weight I've ever been (150lbs) and in my head still think it's not good enough. I don't do did calorie or food restriction, but I am pescatarian and non dairy. Thank you for sharing your tips, tricks, recipes, etc for a healthy lifestyle. ❤

I felt the same way during pregnancies as well. After my first, I loved my body though, right away and was always happy with it. This time, it's a little harder but still appreciating it. I can move well, I can lay on my stomach again, I can feed my baby, and life is good!

This video made me tear up! Now im 12 weeks postpartum and my pants and shorts are too tight or dont fit.. i "bounced back" faster after my other pregnancies. Lately I've been struggling to like what i see in the mirror. I've been really intentionally trying to remind myself to take one step in the right direction at a time, to give myself grace, and to be proud of my body for making 3 beautiful healthy babies!! Im not where i want to be but i working on it, and thats was matters. I was always worried about varicose vains and stretch marks too. I never got any (except on my breast from breastfeeding.) --Which in itself was just a beautiful and wonderful journey/relationship with each of my babies. I wish we could talk about this in person cause i have so much on my mind about this subject lately. My husband is so sweet and supportive but i think women get each other on a different level! 😉 Thank you for being real and showing your insecurities. You dont know how much this video helped me! 😘

One of the things I Never thought about myself when I was expecting my 2 children was "I was fat." No I wasn't fat I was growing my children, this was the 70's. It seems like the new generations are more worried about being fat. Sad. I am glad you are embracing your changes. Thank you for Sharing I hope you are feeling well. Third trimester? Love, Admire and Respect you for sharing so openly Erin. I'm 57, 3 kids, recently divorced, been thru the body image thing many times over. Over everything, from teeth to hair to breasts to nose to butt to toes and fingernails even!!! In recent years I've realized that a woman's life is a trilogy: the maiden, the mother, the crone. Rather than applying my usual cringe to where I am in life I've decided to embrace the moment and realize that THIS moment only happens once so I should make the most of it in the 'now'. Rather than thinking that as I get older I'm in decline, I am really in full bloom. The wisdom, grace and beauty that comes with my older years just makes me look forward to growing into them more. As for you .... OMG ... you are the person I looked to for perfection when I was a teenager! My self image was that I wasn't lucky enough to be born with the blue eyes, the blond straight hair, the thin lean body, the perfect teeth. The only difference for me today is that I see it takes a variety of flowers to make the most gorgeous bouquet! We are all beautiful in our own way. I've accepted my deep brown eyes, curly hair (now a rocking shade of gray) and my child-bearing body! I look forward to your videos not only for the content but also because you are an absolutely beautiful genuine female, mom, daughter, wife who's beauty is inside and out! You are also honest and raw, thank you for that, it doesn't go unappreciated. You are not afraid to be yourself or show your strengths and weaknesses. That says a lot about character and grace as well! KEEP BEING YOU ... NO ONE ELSE DOES IT BETTER! Rachele, xoxo

Hi Erin. I also have struggled with ED when I was younger and those feelings are always there. I am a NICU nurse. I have had 7 children and had varicose veins. Please know your beautiful. I do not own a scale. I never want my daughters to get on a scale and be a number rather just live a healthy lifestyle. Love your body, it is doing a wonderful job at growing your baby. ❤️

Erin, you are one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen inside and out. I love your honesty and opening up. We as women all experience some insecurities but as we get older, we get wiser and realize what really matters is the beauty of our heart ❤️ You have a beautiful, kind and loving heart. Be kind to yourself and know that you bring love and light into this world and you have encouraged me and many others to eat and live healthier lives. Your posts, videos and your ebook helped me transform my life for better and for that I thank you 🙏 You rock girl!!! Stay who you are because you are AWESOME 😎 Enjoy being pregnant and cherish every moment. Life goes by so fast... Much love from California 💗 Olya

Hi Erin, my mama and sister had whole legs of veins. I was afraid that I will have the same legs after pregnancy. That's why I decided to wearing compression stockings whole pregnancy. It helped a lot. I know it's not comfortable and specially during the summer, but try. I'm using it even now when I know, that I will be on legs all day. My sister had surgery to fixed those veins and it looks good. There is still the way. You are beautiful just the way you are. Just focus on the angel who's growing in you. I wish I could talk to you to make you feel better through my stories. p.s.: perfection is boring. Sorry for mistakes, I'm still learning English. My 17 months old son loves to watch Max on videos.😄
