Thank u for posting this video. My float setup is different, but now I'm certain it's a float issue👍

Hey T-Mike, thx for great videos. They are truly enjoyable. Do you have a tips on how to remove a stuck impeller housing on an '65 Evinrude 3hp? It has been running in seawater.

Try spraying carb cleaner on it.

How do you adjust the float with the plastic tab if it's not level? I know you can bend the metal ones slightly.
@michaeljsimonАй бұрын
@@lonnieadams7841 yes Bend with needle nose.
@lonnieadams7841Ай бұрын
@@michaeljsimon I didn't think the plastic would be able to retain the bend as well as the metal would. Just seemed like an inferior product and method.

Hi Mike. Is your highspeed jet inside the float tightened down all the way? Does that need to be adjusted half turn out like the lowspeed jet or does that highspeed just get tightened down. Working on a 4hp. 84.
Hey, what carburetor is compatible with the 7.5 Ted Williams?Is there another carburetor I can put on that

Cool trick, Also I took apart my 2 HP Evinrude Motor Carburetor and everything appears clean but I do not know where to start adjusting my low and high speed jets. I started with 1 turn out on both and went up to 3 turns out and it will only run with throttle on high and yet only seems to be at idle rpm? Any thoughts Thanks
@michaeljsimon2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like running on one cylinder. Check spark

How much fuel will come out if the carb. I have a 97 175 merc. The top carb >s pouring GA out if it when it runs. Then stalls out. Would it be a stuck float. Or a Reed issue

So you shouldn't have any gas coming out of the float bowl gasket?

The TD-20 Johnson carb is a bad design for sure compared to the newer carbs like your son worked on. Just watch the guy with the sledgehammer Johnson video with one of these carbs. He finally figured out the float pin was getting caught on the lid hole. It doesn't take much for these to leak

I have a mercury 20 horse 4 stroke and wen I start it up I notice gas on the water and wen I give it throttle to go faster it will die out on me . But it idles just fine starts good and as long as I'm going slow I have no problems. Could that be a dirty carb or sticking float . Like it's getting to much gas I don't know but I'm glad I stumbled on you channel.. so I had to sub up thank for your time
