38:47 Like how this state of board shows 3 different types of defence: While red is trying to have split up outer guards, magenta puts fewer and bigger, thus more useful interior guards that thread openings, Pete on the other hand just says: „If you break me, I have one huge ass stack already open, that can adress anyone of you!“ 😂

The 1v1 started at approximately 400 troop deficit, a small handfull of turns later it was only about 150... thats some work. Edit: soit started closer to 360, got down to 60, then up to 100, back to 60...

I read the John Carter books as a kid. Or maybe it was the Conan the Barbarian books? Doesn't matter. Anyways, in this book there was this swordsman who was like the Jamie Lannister of the series. He kicked the shit out of everyone in sword fighting. Then in one book he is whooping ass as usual clearing out some building of baddies, and he comes across some guy who wants to fight him who I think was like, a janitor? I guess it was like a "First Sword of Braavos" situation because the janitor was kicking the heros ass. And the hero was like "Who the fuck is this guy? Where did he come from? How do I not know who this is? Am I going to get killed by this guy?" I can't remember how it resolved The point is, in the early game red was a homie. Then red made some wise plays. Then red participated in the siege of pink and did not break ranks, Pete did. But red was slow. Soooooooo.... slooooooooooow. Painfully slow. Missed fortifies. Gaps where he is clearly thinking what to do. Then he capped off spain, NW Africa, and North Africa. That is when I thought about those John Carter books (or where they Conan?) Who the fuck IS this guy? Why is a great player like this clearly playing on a stupid phone or iPad? Respect for RoyKentKart, the Latin Pete.

In the early game I noticed pink said "attack red," which sure, pete was on board with. But then pink broke the bonuses (boneii?) that were the only ones that Pete had a legit shot at breaking. Lesson learned, it is honorable to attack first and show good faith in an alliance, but attack a bonus your alliance partner can not reach instead of one he can.

Such great settings! Fixed caps gets so much flak for being “boring”, but when I’m in a game like this one, you can feel the tension, and every turn that tension builds, until it finally snaps and the board explodes, and the following chaos can often last longer (assuming no cap run) than when a prog board pops. That excitement, coupled with the enhanced psychological aspect of fixed games, is exactly why I love fixed over prog ❤️🔥😎
@TheKillPeteStrategy7 ай бұрын
I wish there were more big maps like this with viable different positions because it's ideal for fixed caps. I really like the psychological aspect as well.

@pete, what do you think of: at 56mins in, offer magenta second by teaming up on red. That's the best magenta could get, better than third, and like this you assure to defeat red. Obviously it's open to betrayal, but magenta can not get second without your help or reds, better offer your help ASAP no? You never know as its fixed, maybe red could win the 1v1 (although you're much better, but generally speaking what's the best strat?)

Hey Pete, thank you for sharing your thoughts about God with us. I was hit by that. Ima tell you my story if that's O.K. Since my early childhood (like 5 years old) I had this inner notion that I'm ever being protected and watched over by the person of God. My childhood years were never easy and I experienced three different kinds of abuse minimum until my teenage years that I'm not going into detail now. However, my faith in God always gave me a sense of courage and strength and protectedness, although I was broke in many different ways, yet not hopelessly broken. It took me another 10 years from 17 up until today (I'm 26) to figure it all out and to make sense of all of the human error and of myself. But I have to say up to my teenage years my faith lacked substance and I wasn't fully committed. That changed when I was 17. At 17 I was trying to make sense of everything that my Biology teachers where telling me and I kind of abandoned faith. Yet, following a prayer somebody spoke over me on a Christian camp for poor kids (I was the leader of a small group of kids) that really touched my heart like never before, and following two other Christian meetings, I decided to give this Jesus a real shot. What amazed me was that these Christian people were praying way other than I was used to. They actually prayed as if God was real and not just a concept, you know. Distant, in the future or whatever. This really caught my interest and I thought to myself, maybe Christianity is real. So yeah, I got baptized and took the Bible as a trustworthy source, did take everything serious that it says. However it was still quite a challenging journey because of all of the indoctrination and all of the mainstream theories that are way to easily accepted as truth etc. It was quite a humbling experience also. Today I'll just consult God whenever there's anything bothering me. It's childlike faith, I guess, folks. Ima just put this out there in case anyone's interested, maybe you find it even a little bit educational or informative :)

Ideally, what we believe is a benefit to ourselves and others. So if it makes you more kind, loving, generous, then it is good. It is when beliefs start to cause obvious harm that my spidey sense starts tingling.
@davidhartwig15967 ай бұрын
@@TheKillPeteStrategy From my perspective, if one's belief is based on the "righteous" side of objective reality (assuming objective reality exists, which I do) and if this side of objective reality encourages such behavior, then yes. There are other belief systems based on the objective reality of evil gods and spirits and followers of these systems do exactly what their faith is telling them to do: namely, promote what we would call evil, like killing followers of other religions, suppressing women, you name it.

Man Pete, you should’ve just seen the game I had on euro advanced caps, fog and blizzard. Ended up second because Third targeted me heavy but the communication I had with the one who got first was on another level. We perfectly communicated territory/bonus swaps, card trading and just about anything else the entire game. I wouldn’t be surprised if we were reported for collaboration. I’ve never seen anything like it, turns out the guy I was playing with was a GM and the guy we eliminated was Master.

So Pete moved off one of the caps to break the Southern defensive line. For sure the counter was to smash those off suit troops and rebuild a defended safe region. Red was so slow though, he might not have been able to combine that with breaking all Pete’s bonuses, anyway.

There's a lot of play to that 1v1. It goes on for more than half an hr. But it has to be both I think. Starting at a 400 troop deficit and closing the cap to 250 before he could act was crucial. If he was better he could have outplayed me. But I had to work for it, which I like.

I don't understand how people come to the conclusion of an all loving God. I'm open minded to some kind of prime mover but I'm definitely not convinced of any Abrahamic God and I think even less of the organised religion and it's not a stretch to say politics which is more or less the same thing,. People get evangelical about far right or left politics which seems indistinguishable from religious zealots
@davidhartwig15967 ай бұрын
Hey Richard I was just putting out my conversion story (you can read it if you're interested, it's under the video) when I saw your comment and wanted to respond to it. I've had trouble believing in the goodness of God, too, but, at least in my case, that was because of some of the evil that I had experienced in my childhood which made me heavily doubt any goodness of God and especially human sanity. I'm a Christian anyway because I laid down my pride and accepted for myself what the Bible claims, namely, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son" to save it (John 3:16). From my experience, once you accept the truth that God loves you, you will see it everywhere.
