Finally! A tutorial presenter who speaks slower than an auctioneer on uppers and who doesn't think it is necessary for his cursor to move at light speed. Excellent information, orderly presentation, clearly explained. I will be continuing my Studio One adventure with you. Thanks, Max

@@maxkonyi Can you do a tutorial on how to design psy trance bass lines and drums. People usually prefer serum to make this stuff. But i wonder if its possible with Mai Tai.
@maxkonyi3 жыл бұрын
@@shinobabu It's definitely possible using Mai Tai. The principles are basically the same, you just can't be as fancy. I doubt I'll get around to making a tutorial like this anytime soon though so I would suggest watching some tutorials with Serum and trying to apply it to Mai Tai. Saw wave, downward low-pass filter envelope, fast decay on the amp envelope, repeat the notes very quickly. Have you seen my videos on Mai Tai?

wow very impressive tutorial. Thanks. your tone and pace is very conducive for the material. would you be interested in making a video where you Cover writing in automation with a fader and the use cases for switching Between automation modes when tracking, for instance? i’ve got a faderport but still trying to work out the most efficient way to Switch between the automation modes based on the specific task i’m trying to achieve. Thanks sir... PS maybe some of the answer is in your live streams.. i shall look around!
@maxkonyi4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, my friend 🌞 Good ideas for videos. I will put them on the to-make list! I don't often record automation with a live fader, so you probably won't find me talking about it. I'm sure there are others you are interested as well

You can automate basically anything. Just right-click the control and select "edit automation". Try it!
@thegroove20003 жыл бұрын
How the heck do you automate the on off buttons for the midi fx, like the arpeggiater chorder etc?.
@maxkonyi3 жыл бұрын
Good question! I actually don't know and have never tried. Simply workaround: duplicate the MIDI track (not the whole instrument) and have one with the effect and one without. Place MIDI data on the appropriate track when to control when you hear the effect. This will not add a separate audio channel or instrument. Just two visual tracks in the timeline view.

Hello! Can you tell me how can I use volume automation in Studio One without losing the hability to control the volume fader? In Ableton Live I use a automation in the Gain parameter present in Utility stock plug-in! Is there something like that in Studio One??
@maxkonyi4 жыл бұрын
Yes! It's called "Mixtool". It's a very similar thing. Give it a shot and let me know if it works for you.

And how cain I copy a automation from one part to another? Thanks!!!!!!!!
@maxkonyi4 жыл бұрын
@@radder9372 You can show the automation lane, highlight the entire section you need with a range-selection, then use your regular copy shortcut. On the new track, place the play head when you want it start, select the automation lane and paste.

It's actually a loop from a pack I made for this Studio One course. I can't remember if it's in Lydian Loops Vol. 1 or 2. You can find links for the loop packs in these videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJzXnJR4fcZrfaM kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6TFg6qehcuhbKM I created the loops with my own samples using Impact XT 👌

I'm using Voltage Modular and playing a sample at a constant loop. Studio one doesn't allow me to press record during sample loop play and start recording virtual knob turning.
@maxkonyi4 жыл бұрын
Is this a virtual plugin or a physical machine? If virtual, are you directing the audio from it to an audio track? If not, are you trying to record MIDI information?
@kookle6584 жыл бұрын
@@maxkonyi yes VM is a virtual instrument. I would love treat it like live recording and record all virtual knob turning in real time. There are just too many knobs to set to automation individually! May be I could run my lap to the I/O interface and record the laptop as an instrument?
@maxkonyi4 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is completely possible. It would be easier to create an sub-output and record it as detailed in this article: support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003804571-How-do-I-record-the-mix-back-to-an-audio-track-like-in-Pro-Tools- Let me know how it goes!

That's either because you don't have the multi-tool selected (press "1" on your keyboard) or the size of your tracks is not large enough (select "normal" at the bottom of the tracks list).

Wow I thought automation was something much more complex. This video made me realize I dont need automation at all. I can do all the things you mentioned without automation... hm
@maxkonyi4 жыл бұрын
That's great! Automation is only needed when you require parameters, which are normally static, to change over time. For basic volume, panning, etc., you don't need automation much of the time.
