I'm Stopping Painting...To get better at Painting?

The polar bear in this oil painting is truly lifelike. The artist cleverly captures the flawless white fur texture of the polar bear and blends in the cool tones of the ice and snow environment, making the entire picture both fresh and layered. I've been such a fan of your work and you should feel terrific about wanting to switch it up and learn more mediums and techniques; that is growth! Don't fight it! I paint in acrylic and get so much from your videos; I can still get a lot from watching you in oils! Fantastic video Daniel ! I have learned so much from this . I've never painted with oils , avoided them really . Wrongly assuming they are floppy to work with . But , after this tutorial , I've just been playing about with the oils I do have , just mixing colours . . And yes !! I now get it , the "buttery effect" . Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts and seeing the work. Great show. I would love to get there next year. In the future please don't run around with the camera. I was motion sick after 20 seconds. Just do stills with info, or invest in a camera gimbal and track slowly.

Aiming to get enough work and of a good enough standard to get to exhibit at EWA, maybe not next year but soon! Both yours and Amber’s booths looked stunning! At the moment I’m trying to improve my photography and photoshop skills so I can work from my own reference photos and make more interesting compositions.

Hey, I wanted to ask a question relating to your reference images, while watching your videos I wonder where you find such good references to create your art. Are they random images that you liked on the internet to be used as a reference, or are they from a photographer (asked permission to use their photos)?
