My style might be mid-century or vintage with art on every available space...but I freely admit that I really appreciate the style and personality of Sarah and crew's designs. Always right for the client, which is incredibly important. I am certain that even with my specific tastes and my collection of vintage and varied pieces, Sarah, Tommy and crew could turn my home into a comfortable, stylish and curated showstopper....Bravo team Sarah!

I enjoy watching the entire episodes of Sarah 101, but having this with just the before, plan, after is amazingly addictive. And useful! I hope you do this with the second season as well. Sarah is very, very good. I have noticed she seems (in 5 or so videos) to lean toward her own favored color palette, though. Pretty, but wouldn't it be nicer to ask the owner what his/her signature color would be for that room? I tend to love "Winter" so her spring/summer colors really jump out at me.

love the colors! i too have a pink sofa-soft pink velvet! i only disagree (for me) with the daybed choice in the living area. i entertain often & you can never have too much seating PLUS, i want guests to be comfy & stay awhile. you cant really get comfortable sitting, chatting, munching, drinking...in a seat with no back. low back sofas & chairs are perfect. they dont block the sight lines. also legs instead of skirts helps that feeling of openness. i think sofas & chairs are much more inviting for a relaxed atmosphere (& practical)!

I really like Sarah Richardson and Tommy's work, but I sometimes question a few of their choices. *The bathroom reno,* for example: ~Taking away the toilet's 'mini room' might have opened things up, but there's a lot to be said for having it separate, with its own efficient exhaust fan, so the other person can use the rest of the bathroom without your sounds and smells all over. ~The tub replacement seems *only* visually appealing. The old tub had whirlpool jets(!) but not the new one. Seems a big downgrade for anyone who's ever had sore muscles or joint issues. Also, "free standing" is still as awkward and useless as when Victorian clawfoot tubs were invented. Nowhere to put ANYTHING when in the tub---not even the soap. ~I'm no fan of dual sinks, but given that every, fricking couple seems to HAVE to have twin sinks in their ensuites, their elimination seems another impracticality. Maybe all of the above were discussed with the homeowners beforehand (likely). In that case, I hope they knew what they are getting in to.
@kat.58222 жыл бұрын
Hey Be. I'm a fan of Sarah's a Tommy's work also. I hope you don't mind my input on your comments for just a little healthy back and forth. ~ There is something to be said for separate water closets, and for all of the reasons you stated. However, speaking for someone with a water closet, the size of the bathroom is also important when having one. I think the space dictated the elimination of the toilet room; and maybe the homeowners aren't ever in the bathroom at the same time. ~ On the tub, I'm sure they checked with the homeowners before placing that tub. After living with a jetted tub for a while in the past, I found that the noise was too much to "relax" and soak in. Keeping the big tub hot while soaking was an issue too. Also, I was raised with a clawfoot tub and loved it immensely. I guess to each his own. ~ I have to agree with you on the dual sinks. One thing I really love is that Sarah and Tommy made a place for towels! I can't tell you how many bathroom remodels forget that people need to dry off! 😉

That rubber floor with the raised dots is very difficult to clean. The intersection of the floor and the wall of the cylinder is a crevice that defies mopping and collects all the dirt, hair, and grime creating a black frame around every dot. Nightmare!

I like her current aesthetic much better. Heavy moldings on top of cabinets that don’t reach the ceiling-not for me. Clients didn’t want beige or stools, and got beige and stools, so that’s odd.
@marylhere2 жыл бұрын
You would think that home owners would figure out not to make exact spaces for appliances. Appliances change sizes mostly standard larger by an inch or two. The first kitchen had a refrigerator space that was too small. Give yourself some wiggle room. This is just making future work for designers. When my wall oven craps the bed I will need to buy a restored vintage…it is easily three inches smaller than newer models.

I wish people would put dates prominently on their videos. The current date is March 2022, but this season was first aired in 2011 -- eleven years ago. That explains why some of the "current style" looks dated already. I prefer to not chase trends for just this reason. More classic designs don't look this dated only ten to fifteen years later.

Yeah, another reason I enjoy my day-to-day market decisions is that I'm being guided by a portfolio-coach. Given that their entire skill set is built around going long and short at the same time, both employing profit-oriented strategy and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downtrends, it's nearly impossible not to outperform. Since using a coach for two years and counting, I've earned more than $1.5 million in return on investment.

I have been needing a new bedroom set for years, new windows, my driveway paved, a new shed because the one I have is falling apart. I can't afford anything. Maybe Pelosi with her $25000 refrigerator and $15 a pint ice cream will help me out. After all with her insider trading on the pharmaceutical stocks, didn't she make millions? Maybe ByeDone will help me out. He used his position in government all his life to make millions and owns how many mansions? Please......
