The fact that the lawyer thought that he would be able to delay that case, even though he was previously told, by judge Boyd, that she would not be allowing a continuance, is assanine and unfair to his client. He must be a very narcissistic and entitled person to believe that he would just get his way with Judge Boyd, even after being in front of her before. She does not feed egos, she stomps on them.

Can’t we make channels like these virtue-signalling free zones? Are there not already enough places where one has to tolerate the tedious regurgitation of idiot box propaganda? I find it telling that so many of the most rabid celebrators of Trump’s legal troubles haven’t even bothered to inform themselves of what he’s been charged with. Yet they’re sure he’s guilty, not just in regard to them, but also all future charges. Because, in reality, they think things like “offending people” and “beating HRC when not supposed to” should be crimes, and so they see the actual accusations as stand-ins for such things. He must be taken down, pour encourager les autres, and to stop him getting back in and hitting back (not that they’re scared of that fat old orange clown or anything).

Why are all of these issues being dealt with the morning of a jury trial? There are pre-trial hearings to deal with things like this and you can ask the court to schedule an extra pre-trial if there is more to resolve. You should be completely ready for trial at least a week in advance.

I don't approve of the judges comment to the Mexican gentleman. She basically said that she thinks he's guilty and he needs to change his ways. She said you know what brought you here today and if you don't make changes this will happen again but that's an assumption that he was brought there on a factual basis for factual charges but in fact the witness won't come forward cannot be found and there is no other evidence other than the witness that's the reason the state dropped the case so this man could be 110% innocent but in her mind he's guilty just by being in court she does this a lot she believes anybody standing in front of her must be doing something wrong which is inherently not true

5:07 This is weird. The defence lawyers take up the entire front of the judge, leaving no room for the state's lawyers such that the judge has to tell them to make room. They know about the adversarial system, right? 10:15 This is weird too. The defendant is not guilty due to a dismissal ... and yet the judge finds it necessary to lecture him about his "actions" ... *which aren't proven!*! Completely beyond the permit of the judge to do so. As a judge, she has absolutely no say on moral issues and should not comment on people who are considered innocent in the eyes of the law.

This is ridiculous. I understand her being stern and strict. She is not punishing the attorney. She is punishing the defendant. People are entitled to have effective legal counsel.
@Mybpeterson
@Mybpeterson 3 ай бұрын
If it was a court appointed attorney they'd be there. The judge can't allow attorneys to dictate her trial schedule because they ignore her rulings. I'm sorry the defendant hired such an arrogant jerk, but he was already on notice that his lawyer wasn't coming. The defendant could've fired him and gotten a continuance. His attorney obviously cares more about coaching student lawyers in a mock trial, and cares less about his client. It's kinda ironic. If he doesn't show up and the defendant gets convicted, then he can try to appeal due to ineffective counsel. In any case, that attorney should be sanctioned for defying the court.
