Wow, I am motivated by your confidence to speak out about these issues. It is inspiring that you did not let this tragedy define your character but rather let it push you to discover your true calling. No one should have to go through these situations to understand their purpose in life. However, I hope you continue to inspire others by sharing your story. It is a powerful message and one that needs to be heard.

This was an amazing story, Dawnn is an amazing person as a professor and just as a person, I couldn’t relate more to her sweatpants style, I love pjs/sweatpants but would often think I looked strange so to make myself comfortable, I was always in boots that had heels, it made me feel confident and I can totally understand where shes coming from. It takes strength to pick yourself up after what she had gone through and I really respect her for that, this was a great TED talk ❤️

Thank you Dawnn for sharing such an amazing story of redemption! fashion psychology is an amazing topic that needs to be explored more & more... there is a reason for everything with clothing *even small details. an amazing concept / talent to translate and reflect upon your own style and read other's style almost as if it were body language! amazing.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and I'm sorry you had to go through that. Also thanks for speaking about the power of clothing and what it can do. While many people just think of clothing as something tangible and cheap, the effects it has on a global scale with economy down to what you spoke about with the psychological effects reminds me why I love clothing and choose to go for this field.

I definitely need a fashion psychologist! I don't dress to be creative, I just dress for coverage and comfort because I am so overweight. I tend to believe that there are no cute outfits in my size and I will buy clothes that are too small for me, just because I like the style and think I can wear it when I lose weight. The problem is, I don't lose weight and these clothes go out of fashion so, I've probably spent $1000s and $1000s on clothes over the years that I never wear. So, I just end up wasting $$ and donating the clothes to others.

In the winter we change our towels about once a week; in the summer twice, or as soon as they smell. I add vinegar to wash water as a matter of routine, and ALWAYS use hot water for towels. I've also discovered "Thieves" essential oil blend which has mildew retardant properties and smells wonderful. (clove, eucalyptus, citrus) I add it to the wash vinegar, to our detergent, and have made up a linen spray, and vinegar shower spray. ("Thieves" is a traditional blend; a number of companies make it or a slight variation.)

I'm sorry Dawn went through this and I respect the psychology of fashion. The pink elephant is the fact charges weren't pressed against the fiance. She wasn't likely his first victim and won't be his last. She swept it under the rug (it will surface down the road) and he gets away with it. No fashion can help that.
