I was almost screaming at the TV for them to buy the flat that they did. I think they must have spoken to parents and had been given a still talking to by Phil & Kirsty, because that was quite the 180. Well done girls, brilliant investment!

As someone living in an ex housing association flat I can say it's the best flat we've ever lived in, space is great, garden is big and neighbours are lovely and being purpose built no noise issues, and it's a safe area to walk around and for kids to play in I know not all ex council are the same but choose wisely and you get a great deal👍😃
@fayesouthall66046 ай бұрын
They are always bigger. Trouble is folks who grew up in a privately owned home can’t get rid of snobbery unfortunately. I was brought up in a council flat and was amazed how small non local authority flats are. Luckily I met a good man and we bought a house together. Married 25 years next April!

As long as the neighborhood is safe, I'd rather have a good looking home from the inside than the outside. Curb appeal is expensive. I'd rather have big rooms for my money.

I checked the 2022 prices for a two bedroom unit in the area. The girls did good! The condo has more than doubled in price.
@neojng Жыл бұрын
they all would have at least doubled, the last flat with the features would be worth even more now.
@ISTEasnoneother10 ай бұрын
Indeed, when you want to buy into new properties, those have doubled as well. Buy to live somewhere you love and predictable fixed house payments for years of joy, instead of rising rents. And not mostly for investment purposes, you will always loose both in joy and possibly money

I loved the "conversion flat" because I like unusual shapes and the triangular floor to ceiling window overlooking the park was so lovely - I could picture myself sitting there and reading an entire weekend. But I did like the flat they purchased, it was definitely the better choice for them. In cases like this, I would love if there was an update - like, 5 years later, were they both still living there? 10 years later? Would be fun to know.

The one thing Phil and Kirstie didn't say to the girls is that they're weren't buying their forever home, they were buying an investment property. Of course they had to like it because they'd be living in it, but their first property didn't need to be their dream property. Fortunately, the girls did eventually come to that realisation.

I did. In the car on my way to my first marriage, I was thinking to myself - "I can always get divorced." Ten year later and I was. Would have been six years earlier except for his automobile accident hospital, recuperation and bills. I stuck it out for six more years until there was nothing else that could be done regarding his recuperation/rehab because my job provided the insurance.
