Using street view to get references is a great idea!

I think this would be incredibly useful for artists who struggle with backgrounds (like me!) I have been struggling making a comic series because I can spend a week just doing ONE semi-detailed background! And now that I'm learning 3D, this seems like the perfect solution! Thanks!

Awesome video! Thanks for sharing, I learned a ton. A trick to get around copying the graph for each mask, you can use a vector warp node, and feed a flood-fill-to-randomized-color into the vector input to perfectly offset the base texture within each "tile".

Thanks for watching! And also thank you for the tip as well, I will definitely use that in the future, everytime I copied over that part of the graph a part in me died just KNOWING there was a way more practical solution! You just made my life a lot easier.

I'd recommend looking at material functions, which will save your time and make things more reusable. Amazing work btw, really love it.

I really don't want to pay Adobe a subscription license for Substance but this was such a lovely breakdown ❤ Thank you for sharing.

you can acomplish a near identical outcome by utilizing both a digital painting software to texture (e.g. CSP, or free ones) and a 3d software program of your choice(Blender, or unreal and affiliates). Model, unwrap, export, paint, import, adjust, and composite.

I got Painter & Designer on Steam. I don't need Stager or Sampler so it's perfect for me, and I get to keep this version forever. :)

Blender really lacks the functions of substance. It's there but much cumbersome, so even if you do it as a hobby just buy substance painter and designer. I am paying 22 Euros monthly know, totally worth it
