I have owned this vehicle since 2021 February in Finland. In our roads and winter it has been a blast... No complaints. Or maybe one little thing: the low ground clearance. In normal family drive in tricky weather conditions, this car is just great.

They should’ve used the WRX badge instead of cheapening the STI to an STI Sport. That way they could’ve kept a softer suspension tune. I mean it is a wagon

I don't get why this isn't more popular, when I bought mine. The 320dx and A4 Q, no camera, 5000$/€ more expensive, the tax more then 2x higher, smaller screen, no LED beam etc. If u add up all this and have like 6000$/€ in the wallet after a few years. U can do something fun with that :)

As a 2016 Levorg Spec B leasee (not owner), I can truly say that I feel totally underwhelmed by the whole Subaru experience. The low torque capability of the CVT with known reliability issues, the poor standard engine tune with its massive flat spot in the lower rev range, and the over dampened, under sprung suspension that feels like you're riding on a jumping castle makes this one car that for its price is way out of its league. VW is currently getting a bad rap but after recently driving a Golf R Wagon, in my opinion there is absolutely night and day between these 2 vehicles.

It wasn't at first, but after a few months ownership dash rattles started, the standard infotainment system in this car is terrible (i think it has been upgraded), the side bolster on the drivers seat is extremely prone to wearing. The first time I loaded up the car driving through the putty to Bathurst it was like being on a jumping castle, to the point where the kids were asking whats wrong with it. However, the main letdown was ultimately lack of driver involvement. CVT's in my opinion don't have a place in a performance orientated vehicle. The engine has the potential to develop good torque, but with the amount of CVT's failing once engine torque exceeds 400nm after tuning its not worth the risk. In isolation, it is a good car, but when comparing to other vehicles in the segment at around similar prices it falls short (The Spec B was high 50's at the time). Put a 6 speed in it, firm up the suspension, get a decent tune and it would be a different story. Or buy a Golf R and have all this plus warranty. Just my 2 cents.

Dowhatsright Just curious where you got the data on CVT transmission failure-reliability to make the claim about known reliability issues? Is the data relative to specific makes and designs or is it total gross % of CVT failure to units sold. I would like to get my hands on the data to run some T-tests, see if there is significant differences between brands, and CVT design variants, pref a simple excel file.

That would be perfection. They dont even offer that in europe with 1.6t version. Its just dumb especially sonce all it takes os literarily WRXxls transmission and shifter. Everything is direct fit and bolt on so atlelasts its doable as modification but still....we could just have that as oem
