He technically lied to Crusch and said his cell phone is what told him about the whale's time and location. Not a total lie, but not the complete truth either. He didnt have to share anything about RBD. If the information he shares leads to RBD being exposed is most likely what will trigger a penalty for him. Every other time he incurred it was when he was actively trying to tell someone about it. Emilia getting a surprise explosion in her chest the one time he said consequences be damned probably gave him perma trauma lol

I think the amount of penalty for sharing information is proportional to the chances of the person being told the information raising questions about the origin of that information. So, Rachin, would either not be very likely to properly question the information or would be easy to mislead on the origin of that information. Meanwhile, Amelia would be difficult to mislead and has enough information already that she could start making educated guesses.

I don't think Beatrice can smell the witches miasma. The only confirmed characters are rem, ryuzu, betelgeuse and the sin archbishop of lust (also a spinoff character named Reize) seem to be the only ones that can smell the witches miasma

Otherwise roswaal and Puck also would be able to do the same. Regarding the Oni sisters it's only rem that is able to smell Subaru for unknown reasons though the Rem:if spoiler wraning rem:if (an alternate world where Subaru ran away with rem instead of fighting betelgeuse letting Emilia die in the process) Story maybe gives us a hint why. Reize who appeared in the alternate timeline gained the ability because the sin archbishop of lust poured something on her. It's possible that the same thing happened to rem but she can't remember it happening Edit: just looked it up and forget whta I said about Beatrice she can smell Subaru my bad

@11:58 I'm fairly certain it's not mind reading but '7th sense' or 'emotion sense' (6th being 'etheric sense') so to speak, especially considering the characters is absurdly in tune with emotions and uses it as a weapon by manipulating it - not increasing or decreasing the emotions but transferring AND optionally transforming (hate -> pride, disgust -> love, all of them -> fear, e.c.t.). To make most effective use of said power you'd need to know what emotions people are feeling, regardless of line of sight. By that connection I wouldn't be surprised if subaru *can* actually resist the authority by staying stoic and unfeeling or utterly apathetic to her, preventing the power to latch on to anything. Likely the same reason why reinhard is largely unaffected. Emilla being a special case, for obvious reasons. and Beatrice being a spirit - probably. After all; in order to feel any emotion towards someone you need to be aware of their existence first. Hence you must not be apathetic towards her specifically for the authority to latch.
