Nice to see a review from New Zealand. Been waiting for the new 2022 Subaru STi for years now to replace my JDM 2004 Legacy 3.0R wagon in the 6 speed manual which has just been amazing to be honest, essentially its a WRX wagon. Personally I like the looks of the newer version over the older version, its a bit more radical. Please do a review as soon as you can get hold of either the WRX or STi. Really hoping the new STi will blow me away on the test drive and make me want to trade in the wagon.

One thing I've loved about the Impreza based chassis over here is that Subaru NZ have dialled in the suspension perfectly to NZ conditions. The later models ride and handle better than some of their competitors with active dampers.

Hey Blu great review. As the admin of the Saigo Members Group and owner of #20 of 20 for these cars I absolutely agree with everything you have said. These sorts of cars will be deeply missed when they are not around anymore. The new 2022 WRX was just announced and the feedback is definitely mixed.

I'm sure it won't take long before you're all looking back smugly on your purchases (maybe already are.) The Saigo (be it WRX or WRX STi) are cool cars and will only become more sought after when the new models hit the streets. A wonderful review! I don’t know about NZ but in AUS those exclusive BBS wheels are $4500AUD a corner. This alone justifies the price of the car if you like them.

Your saigo is identical to my australian final edition

Almost the same. The package that you get with the Austrlian cars with the keys etc. are a bit different. Also the Australian delivered cars have a "EJ25 Final Edition" plaque on the left side of the boot and a numbered plaque in the centre console which the Saigo did not.
