omg my three favorite things together (skateboarding/fly fishing/filmmaking) I was a skater from early childhood until my mid 20s I live today with the scar tissue, and long term injuries to prove it. I have been a filmmaker since my early 20s and a fly fisher since my mid 30s.... now in middle age, still day dreaming of specific lines when walking the streets, but no longer able to actually skate, seeing a piece such as this, makes me feel whole, happy to know others have the same afflictions as I do.

I came to watch your amazing take on fly fishing, but the funny thing is, that I too skate as well. Living in town with the family I can't always be fly fishing but getting the skateboard out on a work evening has its advantages. It's funny the parallels between the two activities honestly, how dialed in to each individual the activities are to the spots you're at. Near 40 years with a skateboard under my feet or a rod in my hand has me pretty dialed in to what I like to do these days, curbs and school yards and the neighborhood hills or the high mountain streams for native trout on single dries on a 3wt is what I like to do, most often it's even just me and my board alone in the streets or me alone on the mountain with my rod. Im close to 50 now and I don't really see things changing. Appreciate the share!

The actual version of me - almost 30 years old, father of a 1,5 years old boy (fulltime), fly fisher (sometimes) and jazzman (some short times) was already a huge fan of your content. Now, the teenager version of me - skateboarder (a bad one, broke my arm and stopped at 18 years old), fan of pop rock and usa skatefilms is also a huge fan of yours! ❤ True emotions watching this, thank you!

Brilliant, I’m 45 now and the music scene I am into often crossed over with skating scene and I always have the utmost admiration for seeing people doing something they love. I guess just like fly fishing. I’m probably not alone that I always secretly wanted to skate but never did, I too have kids and keep doing what you clearly love, it’s important for us to have those times away just doing something like this alongside our otherwise hectic lives.

As a 34 year old who has skated most of my life until slowly things like fly fishing took over 6 or 7 years ago, this video got me pretty hyped. But what really made it that much better was the Louie and jerry part love. Age of consent is always the first song in the headphones when I get to the park. 👊🏼

Great film, Rolf! It took me right back to being 13 years old, getting home from school, and watching my 411VM vhs tapes before going outside and practice kickflipon the veranda. Good job with the editing, and always fun to see new stuff from you. Also, this summer I came to the realisation that flyfishing no longer gives me any joy what so ever, so I've decided to quit.

Front board shuve out on a rail!! Sick edit, music fits nicely.. hated skating in the cold,, even more while falling.. that halfcab heel was superclean. Good memories about sweden and skating, scene in ostersund has been good to me, especially the miniramp under the bridge.. to bad i am tired… gonna put on cruiser wheels and take my son to a skatepark now, thanks for the inspiration 🎉

Awesome bud! I strongly believe there is a direct correlation between the highs and lows of fly fishing and skateboarding. Or any extreme sport for that matter. For the last decade I only skated ramps on Sunday mornings at my local park for the old man sessions. I broke my leg five years ago skating a bowl and sense then skating has taken a back seat to fly fishing. You gave me a great idea for a film but my a.d.d will probably screw that up. Lol
