Good to know. I'm about to ake the plunge to leca. My local Ikea had bags of it. My krinkle 8 was not thrving in soil, I have it rooting in moss right now, so maybe I will try with that one. Thank you, love your content!

Thank you for this, I just discovered that a seller on Etsy has been sending out Hoyas with root mealies, I’m not sure how much of my collection is effected and I’m considering transferring to leca to be a little safer. With the prospect of having to chop the roots off to control any bugs, this gives me a little hope!!

I get so nervous when i see you chop off those precious roots. You are good at what you do & very confident. I am not there yet, but my LECA confidence has certainly grown in the last 3 months, since watching your show. It is such a trial & error learning experience!!! I thank you for that. I just bought & started my plants on "Foliage Focus" they are thriving....the proof is in the pudding.......or LECA!

I like this idea! Don't have to worry about soil roots dying in the leca!

That is exactly right!! And the Hoyas can take it. What I would love to know is if this would work for a big Hoya plant!! What do you think?

Thank you for your encouragement! I had tried transferring a bunch of plants to Leca before and a bunch of them died, and then I kinda gave up on it but because I’m gone for two weeks out of four every month all my plants were just not good when I came home so I’m trying it again and I think I’ve just decided that any plant that can’t survive a leca transfer can’t live in my house because the only ones that are nice when I come home after two weeks are the ones that are in leca! Even though I have someone checking on my plants-they just always over water or under water them. So I’ve learned a lot from you and I’m trying again and I got a little growth tent which I think will help a lot for the transfers because they’ll have good humidity. Crossing my fingers!

Hi Nora, love your hoyas in leca videos. I’ve been growing some of mine in leca for a little while now, I use GT foliage focus but I was wondering if you switch up the nutrients when you want them to bloom? And if so what would you recommend? ps. so good to see another plant loving Aussie 🪴

Amazing help as usual. I have 3 fully grown Hoyas arriving today. All the easy rapidly flowering varieties, lacunoss, shepherdii, Bella. The only fancy one I got is a ruthie. If I get it to flower I’ll be like a pig in sh@t as they say here 😂. But anyway. I don’t have a lot of space. How do I quarantine them with limited space. And what’s the best pest solution. Does neem oil get all the mites and flat mites and mealybugs etc. I’ve come across azamax which has the compound of neem oil. Horticultural oil which is very powerful for most stuff. And of course neem oil. And sulphur for flat mites being the smelly solution that azamax and horticultural oil sorts out without much smell. Azamax used twice as flat mites have a 21 day life cycle. So one treatment at the beginning and treat all plants. And at the end of cycle beginning in 21 days. Horticultural oil works once. All thanks to another wonderful creator as yourself. Hoya appreciation Liz Kelly. Both of you are wonderful. Doing what you do best and allowing people to grow themselves without this is the best way and if you don’t follow, well, begone! 🤣 Truly amazing stuff here and always a joy to watch and listen and learn. Such passion and dedication. May you thrive better than your plants :)

I love Hoya appreciation!!! She is amazing! Thank you for your kind words, they mean alot. Maybe you could quarantine them in a tub, something like a clear storage tub? I love a good neem oil as a deterrant but in all honestly, whe I have pests, I don't muck about, I bring out the big guns, proper formulated pesticides for me. I just can't take the risk with so many plants. I also don't have the time for all the multiple applications needed with things like neem oil. I love a good Azamax treatment!

Thank you so much. I mean every word. I love seeing people who love what they do. It’s infectious. Everyone needs more nature in their homes and hearts. Ty for all you do! 🩵💚🤍 I just got the new hoyas. Oh my gosh! I’m just bursting with hoya love. Hoya all! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I don’t have much space so quarantining will be fun! But tbh all my plants could use a good sorting out with pesticides so no biggie I’m not too worried. Plus two of my old Hoyas have some mealybugs or mites or something. Once again. Thank you so much. What’s your favourite treatment for big plants? What do you submerge them in? Or is it spray a lot?

Unfortunately not ! I live in uk ! Here only no rooted cuttings cost around £20 I am trying to see if it is better to invest in a rooted Hoya than a cutting as I have failed to root them ! I lost many
@patriciamoran951
@patriciamoran951 Жыл бұрын
Well that’s awesome! It’s actually a little better than a cutting because there are still tiny little remains of roots I think. But that’s a good technique actually because, in my experience they tend to rot… Mostly because it’s really hard to get the soil 100% off the roots and also they are sooooo freaking thin and fragile 😢 I’ve only managed to have them in lechuza pon.
