Survived cardiac arrest at home. Collapsed 6 years later with pre-syncope and ventricular standstill. Consultant asked “ have they told you what type of arrhythmia you’ve got; are you on medication; has anyone told you you’ve got a heart murmur?” I answered no, no and no. If you don’t know you’ve got a heart problem in the first place you’re already at a massive disadvantage.

Wow, you are so lucky to have survived that! My mother was life flighted 2x and once by ambulance every time the dissection further "split." Our small local hospital could not deal with it. As you know, it is so painful! Hers was descending (Type B) and the only thing they could do was aggressive blood pressure control. She passed at 80 in 2017.

My son, age 50, passed away one year ago from sudden death. He was at work, got in an elevator, texted his friend where to have dinner and was found dead outside the elevator on bottom floor. He had extensive autopsy and didn't really reveal much except he had a mild enlargement of LH and some signs of hypertension. He had never been to a cardiologist or had reason to. Autopsy did not show any blood clot or embolism. I asked coroner if it could have been rythm since I have AFIB and they discounted it because they said... unlikely because he wasn't on blood thinners. Well... how could he have been since he had never complained of anything or been to a cardiologist. Dumb reply on their part. Still no particular reason why he just dropped without warning. Love your jacket - looking pretty buff :) :)

I developed a myriad of issues ( dysautonomia and heart rhythm issues) as the result of a vaccine in 2019....my med team advised that anything that causes an inflammatory response has the potential for permanent damage, though "most" will be fine. it's definitely a lottery I didn't want to win😢

Im afraid that not going there does not make an issue disappear. If papers have been issued on certain medications not being as effective in their primary purpose then why not make the public aware. And if other medications cause unwanted heart inflammation for a period of time isnt it a matter of public health concern and for the wider public be made aware? Yeah it is the same bureaucratic/institutional pressure we saw from the start, keep your mouth shut or be exiled. There is even control being exercised by the journals and at the peer review level, a recent paper about the clots being found in a high percentage of deceased individuals completely rejected without even being reviewed. Really shows the level of ongoing denial, our governments and systems basically protecting corporations, and because of the decisions they backed and pushed.

My cardiologist cancelled my last due appointment in Feb 23 and said they would rearrange the appointment shortly. 11 months on and no contact or updates. I’m through with NHS to be honest. I had one episode of Afib. Got a loop recorder before I even knew what it was. Did my own background check of previous blood work, found my Potassium levels always low. The day I had it (at night) I was active; bicycling in Florida summer heat, then working in the yard for hours, sweating profusely. All makes sense; I started using an electrolyte drink (Dr Berg's) and 3 years later, no Afib. Check your potassium. and salt.

And yes it's one hell of a good film, mega enjoyable and thought provoking in so may ways. Ps I hope this is not to negative a view point but I have started to become more aware / suspect that it's so much harder for lower income people to access a deeper evaluation care plan ; than it should be. I’m the same, I had a first AF attack in hospital following a stomach bleed and passed out to waken to the shock pad team & 2 consultants putting Canulas in. This is 4 years ago and I have had regular AF attacks since. I waited 2 years to see consultants at our main heart hospital but when I mention I feel it in the stomach first and mention the vagus nerve they just dismiss this. I also have a hiatus hernia and have been on omeprasol for the past 4 years, although I read this shouldn’t be a long term medication. I have a lot of trouble with my stomach on heart medication. I wish I had Dr Gupta as my consultant.

I'll add one more thing: genetic testing. I had the full suite of tests based on my history and family history (echo, 12 lead, high lead ECG, CT angiogram, stress test, holter, cMRI w/ contrast, genetic testing) and it was immensely reassuring. Feel like I have my life back and can live without fear. Sure, it's possible to get all the tests and still miss something, but in that case, it's just my time to go and nothing else could have been done.

Check out wiwe ecg it's not a replacement for 12 less but it measures the qrst integral between cardiac cycles using an algorithm and can detect minor repolarisation changes thet an standard ecg could miss .

Hi dr gupta I have trivial aortic regurgitation and trivial mitral regurgitation, I also had an episode of afib last year, I had an echo and all I got told was normal left ventricular function, I have quite a few pvc’s or pac day sometimes around 5 a minute but rarely, i have an appointment with a cardiologist at York hospital next week, can you give me any advice on my symptoms and am I at risk of anything worse, thanks

In 2005, i was diagnosed with AF. I was operated on and prescribed all sorts of junk and even had my thyroid removed by cardiologists - when all it was was a magnesium deficiency. The cardiologists made lots of money though, so that's OK...

I think I would have had one myself. I had a stent of 95% of a blockage in the widows maker artery. Absolutely no symptoms. It’s a long story but I said I was having a pain. This is because of insurance policy.

Are not CIMT and OGTT and fractionation of cholesterol way more predictive of latent heart problems than non predictive tests such as stress and ekgs.? Those old tests are fine for someone way off the charts but that's not who drops dead with "no explanation." As you said, "we're looking for the usual suspects here, not the obvious ones like the old obese couch potato smoker. All chronic diseases, including heart attacks, are way up and it's metabolic disease that's causing most of it and it's bad diet that's causing the metabolic disease. The problem is the official medical community still promotes crap or unsustainable, semistarvation diets. Doctors have got to convince people that you can't pill, inject, supplement, stent or otherwise shortcut you way to health. We knew this a long time ago but it might involve work so we just watch the latest television ad for the newest wonder drug, ignore the horrific and partial list of side effects, and head for our pusher (doctor) for a script while stopping a McDonalds on the way.

Perfect health with annual medicals in a career of military, Police and aviation careers. One month after a co and vid injection I suffered chest pain and breathlessness. GP sent me to A&E and an 8 day stay in cardiac care. Outcome, you have mild atheroma. I struggle to get through every day and expect to not wake up in the morning. All these thoughts are great but I suspect the NHS refuses to acknowledge the elephant in the room.

take baby aspirin everyday, that is at least one thing you can do. Try to lose weight if necessary. Don't do drugs alcohol, don't smoke cigarettes. Don't walk for 20 miles when you are not used to do that. (many people get a heart attack when they are on vacation, doing things they normally don't do, like walking up a mountain, or something like that).

Here I am self doubting myself even after my echo, stress and ECG all came out normal. My only complaint is that I have skipped heart beats occasionally (which were identified on holter as benign). This video has increased my cardiac anxiety. Perhaps the good doctor could do a video on how rare these asymptomatic CAs are and that would really help.
