Another way for solving the puzzle: after the X-wing on 3 at 20:30 you stay with a Y-wing or bended triple 17 , 18 and 78 between boxes 7 and 8. That Y-wing makes a 7 impossible in r8c5. Forcing a 7 in r9c5. From there the puzzle is finished. All the best and keep safe.

Hello and thanks for the puzzle and the solution of the sudoku. As I've mentioned in the previous tutorial I prefer a solution without inserting all the possible numbers in a cell. And yes, It can be done!!! First I found in row #8 only 2 places where '1' can be. I run a solution when the '1' is on row #8 col #6. So '1' is also in row #9 col #1. So '8' is in row #7 col #1 and '9' is in row #6 col #1. The rest of the solution is easy and fast.

Hi Robin…I have been going back and trying to catch up on videos that I have missed, for various reasons. So I just saw #90 and this one today. I agree with what others said about #90…it was easy…did it in under 15 minutes. This one, I got stumped on…but could be that I was getting tired too…yet, at the same time, I really need to start looking for those X Wings (and possible Finned X Wings). It’s just going to take a while to get in the habit, since I only learned about those this past week. New habits take a bit to put into practice. Once you showed the 2 X Wings, I stopped the video and proceeded to finish the puzzle on my own, then came back just to make sure I completed it correctly. These advanced techniques to solve the puzzles are exciting though.

Hello. I filled in the puzzle with the possible numbers and returned to the video at 14:23. I don't see why you don't have a 6 in the far-right column where the 2&9 are (bottom-right cell of the top-right block. I need to watch your earlier tutorials as I always fill in all the little numbers first before solving (unless something sticks out at me).

Thank you for an awesome puzzle. Thank for this awesome channel. TMB, LCR, and RAM have brought many hour of enjoyment. (My wife would say, “too many hours”.) I did eventually solve the puzzle but I never found the x wings and I failed on the first 3 tries. Think the way I solved is that I avoided using the numbers I failed on 4,6, 8 until I as absolutely sure the number was the only possible number that could go in that cell. The last number was an 8. I can’t wait to try it again see if can spot the x wings. Should be a lot easier knowing what the x wing numbers are.

That is a tough one, it took me 22 minutes to solve it! Here's how I cracked it, I spotted something different. The consequences of r8c8, the 2/8 cell, are quite peculiar. If it's a 2, r3c8 is a 6, making r3c7 a 7. If it's an 8, r7c9 is a 7, making r3c7 a 7. So in either case, r3c7 is always a 7. That forced r2c3 to be a 6, which made row 6 have a 189 triple, and the puzzle unwound from there!

Robin: using the Snyder method, are the two little numbers in a block automatically locked? It seems to me they are.

the 2 similar little numbers must be in a row or a column. within a block and nowhere else to become locked.

You lost me at about 24 minutes when you started working on "4's", and using the blue marker. I don't understand how you chose the spot for the first blue 4. It looked like it could have gone elsewhere, but things sure fell into place after that. What am I missing? Thanks, and keep the You try it, I try it coming!
@SudokuGuy2 жыл бұрын
The first 4 is due to the fact that in an X wing if the 6's are only found twice in the columns then any other 6's in the rows which are not part of the Xwing can be removed therefore this enable a big 4 I suggest you look at tutorial # 62 and 63

Thanks, Rubin. The experience has been wonderful. There's only a little fault I noticed. When you came back with small numbers all done, at minute 14:22, if I'm not wrong you missed a 6 in the last cell of the third row (cell 3I). In this case it was not a problem but I think that sometimes even a small mistake can ruin it all.

Right Avelino, but i do feel that I was correct.
