in our place in the philippines we call that mango as DURIAN MANGO. the smell speaks for itself why its called that way

I love durian. I am hoping this mango tastes good because I have one growing in my backyard that is 10 feet tall. Lol but this video has me worried.

Rodney S I love the look of the tree and the smell of the uncut fruit, so we will probably keep it, especially since I can’t find green double bubble anymore 😂 . I may be willing to sample again once the tree matures (If Craig tastes first and says it’s better)

Hello friends, my wife, children and I taste tested five of these Kuini today. Four of them were wonderful. One was overripe and quite unpleasant. I'm wondering if your was overripe? We're sold though and planning on growing quite a few of these in our orchard in Hawaii.
@SulcataGrove3 жыл бұрын
Perhaps. I’m definitely keeping the tree. Hopefully taste will improve as the tree matures too. I love the smell of the fruit.

Hi, I live in Hilo. I can’t plant 2 mangos in my backyard. I have this kwini mango that is 10 feet tall. Do you recommend replacing it with a different variety 😂

@@mayad6348 how old is your tree and is it fruiting? If it is fruiting, how do you enjoy the fruit?

I had a mango that I think the previous owner grew from seed in my yard when I moved in. The fruit that came from it tasted metallic. I cut it down.

Love your video! The Kuini “Kwaynee” mango is (to me) the best tasting mango because it’s got character 😄😄 I love this and have been looking for it in Singapore for the past 2 - 3 years. I used to be able to tell if a stall is selling it by getting a whiff of the fragrance just by walking by. 4 definite layers is probably the character 😅 Love your experiments with the tasting and...TIMING the taste 😂😂 that really was gem of the video. If you try it another time, try not to cut the skin like that. For this mango, it’s not only the taste, to really appreciate it, it’s the texture. You have to leave part of the “skin” on and eat it together with the meat. So, you can use a peeler to just remove the upper most layer of the skin so it is no longer deep green but it’s light green but definitely not yellow because then you’ve arrived at the meat. Eat it with the layer of crunchy skin and see if your impression is any different. 😊😊 Thanks for the video, you made my day!!
@SulcataGrove3 жыл бұрын
Thank you fir your kind comment and tip about eating with part of the skin on next time. Our tree set a few fruit again this year. Hopefully they will ripen well and we can taste again.

I was searching for this fruit as I remember we had a tree in our yard growing up in West Malaysia. I have been living in North America for the last 40 years and the memory I have eating this fruit was really good! I wonder if I can buy a few fruits from you.

Here in Hawaii I’ve had Kuini tasting experiences both good and bad. The good ones are really good and the bad ones are absolutely disgusting. Seems to be a factor of how long it hung on the tree and ripened off the tree. I wouldn’t give up on this fruit yet!

Pull this tree out and plant another Sugarloaf or Lemon Zest. Don’t waste a space even though you have 2 acres. If you pull it straight out and put the soil in the hole into a 15 gallon pot you can replace it in 10 minutes. Do it. You gave yourself and your viewers a great experience. Thanks. Don’t waste the space. Just think of all the happiness you can bring into this world with a great mango variety planted in that space. The experiment didn’t fail cause you made a very special fun video. Only thing that could have made the video better would have been if your wife faked an anaphylactic episode fell off the chair holding her throat choking then popped up and said “kidding”!!!!

Marvelous Mango My understanding is Mangifera is the genus and Mangifera indica is mango. Peach, plum, and cherry are all Prunus, but are not the same fruit.
