Their methods of controlling AI will only make it less accessible to the public. It will decrease our class mobility and put young people at a disadvantage. We need to earn about $90 000/year to have the same buying power as an average person in 1980. If my generation doesn't use these advantages they will never own homes.

Here is the thing. All of these LLMs take up never before seen amounts of resources. I haven't been big on the concept of climate change, but this is THE biggest violation of the environment I have ever studied. I REALLY reckon you look more into the data; meanwhile, I pose you this question... "How can billionaires promise near infinite growth without near infinite resources?"

Lets all please stop scaremonger our way into what will be amazing life changing technology, stop watching Terminator movies if it all seems too scary, I'm sick of hearing A.I being touted as if it's going to be some bitchy type of narcisistic self obssesed personality, like some basic human with low level intellegence and moral. Lets take some time to put into perspective that there are millions upon millions of innocent suffering individuals and kids in this world with extreamly hideous conditions/diseases and utterly horrible lifes that could benefit from advanced technologies like A.i, it could bring their only fading existances some hope and joy. Holding back such peoples best chance of some semblence of comfort and joy in life is cruel to say the absolute least. You may not want to take the risk especially if you live in a painfree bubble free from the horrors our current way of life can throw at you but be warned that bubble can pop at any time, I'd take the risk 11 times out of 10 over some Terminator based hunch as if I'm being honest it's the selfish people and thier motives in this world than worry me way before a.i

It will not be moral if we do not build it to be moral. It will not care about us if we do not build it to care about us. Building it in this inherently safe way is NOT what the companies producing the AI are doing. They say, out loud, that they do not know how to control their models, & do not understand what goes on inside of them. The poor suffering people you speak of will be treated the same as everyone else by the AGI, which will care nothing for their suffering.
