From this discussion I understand the "Warrior Pose" to be not just another pose, but a foundation element for movement. From the great deal that I don't know about martial arts I have the impression that the "Horse Stance" forms a similar foundation element for movement (or maybe for solidity?). Is there a decision to be made between the Warrior Pose and the Horse Stance the way you might make a choice between Graham & ballet?

Those are the 2 most fundamental stances, but I NOW prioritize warrior (it use to be horse). But warrior is easier to scale and teach mace and club swinging in. It can go very poorly to swing in horse stance if it’s not already very solid.
