I wear a Dainese Armoured vest. It's exterior is mesh and everywhere you could hit the ground has armour. The air blows right through it and it's really cool to wear. It's like riding with a tee shirt on and your completely protected and cool. Dainese make fabulous quality bike safety gear.

Nicely presented review. I've had the previous version for a couple of years. A real game changer in hot weather, its like not wearing a jacket at all. I went with silver as I figured I'd stay cooler from the sun when stationary. Be careful though, i went out on a warm summer evening and it was a bit chilly riding back!

Yup , a quick ride out yesterday when it was 21 degrees....felt a bit chilly. So yes as I said you should keep a windproof layer handy to pop over the top. Its a nice looking jacket, but wouldn't go racing in it!

I have the Klim Marrakesh but the vented back armour seems better in venting with holes. Would be good to see a comparison. Thanks for film.

Have one in grey(as in light gray, maybe they call it white?). Can confirm, it is amazing on those 30C+ days. The airflow over the underside of your arms, and torso is fantastic. Makes it feel like you're wearing a t-shirt once you're on the move. As to the negatives I think realistically it's not what you want to wear if you slide at highway speeds. It's probably plenty for city riding, but if you want real protection at high speeds you should look at something else. But that's really a compromise for making the jacket so light and breathable.

Nice review! Just bought the same jacket and back protector. Only thing I'm not so keen on is how far the top of the back protector protrudes at the back jacket. Apart from that a great bit of kit!

Good review, thank you. I have recently gone down a similar line with my riding kit, but I chose the Knox Honister and then bought a lightweight wind proof layer , I went for the Klim Zephyr, as it folds down and fits in your pocket.

I got the revit blue one great jacket nice fits nice I always get a color to be seen ! I and get level 2 proteccion for all my jackets . Also bought a crash vest inflatable and I have never used it 🤪 there was talk earlier from the meddling eu to make them compulsory!!

Great jacket. I have yet to use mine as it hasn't been warm enough in the UK, yet. I got mine silver/grey with their mesh trousers in feb when SBS had a big discount on them and got my jacket for £78.00, trousers £70.00. I'm a 38" chest so went for small and 30/32"W 29" leg. Both fit perfectly. I have a Knox back protector so plan to wear this beneath. At the moment I am still wearing my Richa leather Daytona 2 jacket as it too flippin' cold still for a mesh jacket. If it gets any colder I shall be in my RST textile winter jacket with icebreaker base layer and down body warmer underneath. I feel cheated!

Great video! I've seen this jacket advertised a lot on my social feeds lately and I consider buying it every time, so it's good to get this kind of in-depth info. I think I'm even a similar size to you so that helped too! My only concern is how protective this would actually be in a spill. Does it have any other certification info for the jacket itself? I know with jeans they get rated A-AAA, but jackets and shoes seem to be all over the place! Thanks

Hi, didn't want to confuse folk, the jacket is a Class A garment, offers the minimum necessary degree of protection from impact and abrasion. These summer mesh jackets are a compromise , clearly not as protective as a leather suit which is a Class AAA garment, but in 30 degrees+ I know what I would want to wear for general day to day riding...fast canyon riding, if thats a riders thing, I would go get an AAA garment for maximum protection.👍

@@gsd32i Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I guess for the low speed commute or short journey it would be ok, especially with the L2 back protector. I think personally I'd want something a bit more substantial (vented textile, rather than full on mesh?) so it could handle higher speeds and then just put up with being a bit hotter on the few days a year it's hot enough for that jacket! (Cue 2 month heatwave to make me eat my words! 😄)

@@moto_matt I rode with it today in 21 degrees just to try it out, rain was forecast but didn't appear, very nice with a cool breeze coming through above 20 mph. its another bit of kit to use when the going gets HOT though.

This vest used to be called Dainese , but now it seems to be Herobiker. Very reasonable @ $100.00 Canadian $ . Including vest with all the armor and back protection included. The mesh is wonderful and you get a great refreshing ride in the morning with the cool morning air hitting you with virtually no restriction.....fabulous.

Brilliant jacket for summer. Got the original last year and got the new one when released and managed to sell my old one to a mate for a tour a few weeks ago. Love Revit and just upgraded my main suit the Sand 4 to the Gore Tex Dominator 3 as I’m off to French Alps in September and last year in September in Switzerland I got soaked a few times with a liner type suit, which was far more than I liked. Just a suggestion but I’ve changed my armour to Ghost IP D30. Level 2 and much more comfortable 👍👍👍

Dainese is the leather company that makes Rossi's MotoGP Champion race leathers for many years. The vest I wear is fabulous quality and they have high quality race protection everywhere you could hit the ground including a high quality back protector. Looks amazing as well.

@@gsd32i Just picked this up this evening at the shop before they just closed. You are spot on to say this is not an "AAA" jacket but rather something for a commute; which is exactly what I was looking for. I got the black as the silver tends to get dirty. Though, will try it out to ride on a humid hot day and if this gear works, will get another one; in silver/white. Thanks for your review again, sure made a sale for Rev'it!
