During an oil change on this Yamaha Motorcycle, the sump plug suddenly snaps, leaving half of it still in the bike!

Ouch!! The hulk must have tightened that up in the past.

The relief when the broken stud starts to move in these situations is just a great feeling 😂 I could feel it through the video lol

I know that feeling. It's like winning the lottery (I guess, not having ever one a lottery).

its that feeling of maybe we are entering a world of pain when things go awry, great calm in the face of adversity.

Not your fault, but sorry had to laugh. Customer asked for an oil change, 5 minutes later you're hammer & chiseling the bottom of his bike 😂

The one with 6 lugs is genuine when i had the same bike i heard others having the same problem with the sump bolt breaking like that so i always had a spare sump bolt.

Hi Steve just wanted to say thanks for explaining the sequence of adjusting clutch cable arfter fitting a new one yam r6 I believe it was , I fairly recently bought a 03 gsf 600 bandit with 5,500 miles so I thought it was why the transmission was very stiff having not done many miles but arfter re ajusting as per your video it shifts fine now so thanks for the tips an tec info it has certainly helped 0:02 me.out.

Ahhh bollox 😂... Turned out not to bad, thought it was gonna be the shaft of a bolt stuck in there... Such a little hex head on a big plug, poor design...

What did they use a scaffold bar and wrench to tighten up that sump nut.

Great and informative video. Any advice on how I could start a business like yours? I would like to start on my free days off by servicing other people's bikes.

What are those towles you use in all your videos? Are they disposable ones that you've purchased or are they just a bit old sheet or something that you've cut up?
@themobilemotorbikemechanicАй бұрын
They are just white clothes that we purchase in large 20kg bags. Very useful 👍

Wonder if the sump plug is a yammy problem. My ybr125 needed to be rethreaded and new plug fitted.

Using a brakerbar on a sump bolt your just as bad as the one that worked on it before you You should of stop work told the customer as its probably a young lad and that's how he gets to work So you could of the parts in then come back

The bike belonged to a customer that had a second form of transport and knew what was going on so no need to worry.

You know what was going on and you still done it That's really bad

What a stupid comment. Steve fixed the bike and made it right so how has this a bad thing?

Good day all. Probably a previous owner over tightened thinking it's better to tighten too much than not enough. After all they didn't want the oil leaking out of the engine. Nice to see it all got sorted out. I like this mechanic 🙂
