I just found this, I have a friend who adores sunflowers...need to buy the yarn

I so appreciate this video. I got a pattern that was only written instructions and they weren't sufficient so I was totally lost. Now I can do it!

They are so pretty did not know you could do coasters on a loom, so glad I found your channel, thank you for sharing! Subscribed to your channel...

I found it a little hard to follow with your instructions for the cast on and bind off to make the petals, but I persevered and after numerous attempts I have a perfect sunflower coaster. So very happy. Thank you so much for sharing this pattern.

What yarn are you using? And so confusing when you turn the loom upside down,
@zzahara1003 жыл бұрын
Little cconfusing when you hold it upside-down. Just for information that is not the flat knit it is the u-knit.
@gloriaeisel4652 Жыл бұрын
Thank you I kept thinking that's how I do a u-stitch.

Can you please write the instructions out for the petal part with what pegs you are doing each petal with? I think it would help to understanding it better.
@angelamartin28115 жыл бұрын
I can only see the loom and not what your doing with the stitches. Going to try and watch again because I really like the coasters 😞

Could this be done on any round loom with an even number of pegs? I’d like to make a larger one. Also if I want it all one color, would I just continue with the original working yarn? My goal is to create a sun to add onto a child’s rainbow blanket. Thanks in advance

I always knit holding my loom that way! I’m glad to see someone else do this!

Just got around to actually looming these and I love them. You did a great job with the video and Thank you so much!

I can't get a 24 peg. The closest I can get is a 22 peg. Could thus project be done on a 22 peg round loom

Can’t figure out what you are doing when you put the loom upside down

I'm making another video. I'll try to get it uploaded by next weekend. Hopefully, it will be clearer.

I can not put up with anymore of the noise of the loom rubbing the table, I also don't see what you are doing when you knit upside down.. I want to see the finished product but don't think I can last... Sorry, this is my first complaint on comments x x x

This is really great.I wanted to use the pattern for the center to just make a basic coaster but it wont lay flat.How many rows should i do and what kind of bind off?
@luvnptcruzer11 ай бұрын
Do you have the written pattern?
@dgroganvoice4 жыл бұрын
So you start with the yarn coming from underneath, but at some point during the cast on, it is coming from the top. I don't understand where I went wrong
@soverysanibel83514 жыл бұрын
If you start by putting your slip on on your anchor from the middle, you should be good to go. Or may I ask at what point in the video do you feel you are off?
@dgroganvoice4 жыл бұрын
@@soverysanibel8351 I ended up pulling the entire ball of yarn up through the loom. Worked out fine

Would you know the counts for possibly making these larger? i would love to have these as dish towels, or even Place holders for the table :)
@CraftsbyLorie8 жыл бұрын
I've not made larger ones yet, but will one day. When you get to the part of alternating purl and knit stitches continue doing so and pull the middle together until it's snug. If you follow my video for the small one, you'll get the idea and I think it will make more sense of the result you should be looking for. Let me know if you have any more questions.

hello I just saw this video is there any way to do placemats to match?
@CraftsbyLorie8 жыл бұрын
I don't see why not. You could certainly make round placemats using a larger loom. I'm not sure about rectangle.

I thought the video was very good but the noise from the loom rubbing on that table was awful. but it was easy to follow thanks for sharing

I'm glad it worked out for you. I'm working on another video, but it's so hard to explain the steps and get a good camera angle.

I bought looms because I absolutely loathe purl. Seems purl is just as horrible on a loom. Is there any way to make purl easy or not so complicated
@jackiehickman81595 жыл бұрын
Kind of hard to follow. Purls seem backwards to me. Confusing.
@laurasetepenre89177 жыл бұрын
I can't do this. :( I get all the way to where I am supposed to be able to release the slipknot from the new colour...and I can't. I don't know why. It's locked tight. Then I try to forget it and move on. I then try the looping and binding and every time I think I see what you are doing, I don't. :( I get a big knotted mess behind at least one peg and then when I try to do my standard bind-off I get so lost. I'm sorry! These look SO CUTE but I guess I slip into dummy mode. I've tried this 3 times. :(
@CraftsbyLorie7 жыл бұрын
Laura Setepenre I'm so sorry. What can I do to help you?
@laurasetepenre89177 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry! I didn't want to make you feel bad; it's just that these are so CUTE and I want to make them. :) I think that maybe it all begins with me not being able to pull out the slip-knot from the new colour. Do you have any idea why I can't? I know how to do a slip-knot, I just don't know why that all three times I couldn't pull it loose. I think that may be where my problem really lies. Maybe I pull it too tight to begin with? I don't know. If you can't help me that's okay. Nobody else is having a problem so it seems to be just me... What I may do is to try these once again and really try to see from the get-go at that part what seems to be off on mine.
@CraftsbyLorie7 жыл бұрын
Try pulling your middle together before you change colors. I'm going to try to do a new video as soon as I can. I'll let you know when it's up. And don't be sorry and don't fret - you will get this!
@laurasetepenre89177 жыл бұрын
Well, I finally did get this - pretty much. I think I had doomed myself from the get-go, before. Firstly, I didn't tie my slip-knot from the inside like you told us to do. I had blanked out, there. Then, when I got to the petals, I didn't see how easy it really was to cast on. I made it much more difficult in my head than it was supposed to be. I let your looping and twirling confuse me, and tonight I saw that you were simply casting on casually. When I relaxed it went much better for me. My petals look like crud, but I think I'll just use one strand of yarn for them next time. But overall - I FINALLY did it! :D Thank you so much. I really appreciate your sharing this and for helping me out. Maybe pulling my middle together before changing colours was also my problem before.

Do you need two separate rolls of yarn to get the double strings? I'm very new to this
@CraftsbyLorie4 жыл бұрын
No, you wouldn't but it may make things easier.

why can you do e wrap on for them. a draw string for them?
@CraftsbyLorie7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure - I don't think it would pull the same way. With an e-wrap you might have too much bulk.

I loved your final product, but found it too hard to follow your video, camera view is not showing everything, too close. I'm able to follow the way Loom a Hat films, holding the loom is much easier following. Want able to follow, so it's an incomplete project
@lindareed45595 жыл бұрын
I'm left handed and it better for me to watch and follow you when.you hold the looms side ways that's funny when I watch all looms where they hold the loom side ways I followed better maybe it has something to do with left-handed brain works diff then right handers

Why are you knitting upside down? You should show it like everybody else. It's a bit confusing the way you're doing it. But I'll try it and see. Sorry! No offense.
