Thanks Sun! I really appreciate your nuanced take. I used signal for years, and I constantly recommended it. Then I saw The Hated One's video. After, I kept using signal, but was hesitant to recommend it. I also stopped keeping up to date with further developments. This was very informative.

@@sunknudsen Don't be, this story around Mobilecoin is very exaggerated and I don't agree with The Hated One's clickbalt video where he wrote in his thumbnail "Delete Signal", maintaining an infrastructure is very expensive and if donations are not enough, you have to look for other ways of monetization, even harder when the model has to preserve privacy, it's the reality of life and Moxie and the team don't work for free, it's their job, concerning the server side code which apparently hadn't been updated for 1 year, I had read it on Github, I don't know the exact reasons, but it's most probably that there was no need to do it yet. I still use Signal and I continue to recommend it around me.

Cool video Sun!I have donated to Signal via Amazon and Paypal.I think signal is really the gold standard when it comes to privacy & security and something convenient that most people will adopt.Normal people will not use Briar,Martix....That said I am grateful for what Moxie accomplished.As for the mobile coin I do like that fact that they made it optional to turn on.I dont have much use for an integrated wallet myself but if it helps to keep the project afloat I am all for it.

Hi Sun, I discovered your channel here last week and since then I´m watching every single video. Really love your content! It helps me a lot to improve my data privacy. Great job! One question: I still use Gmail as Email-provider. I always had issues with using anything from them. I live in Switzerland and do also have an own domain for my stuff. Would you recommend to move all my email communication to the private domain instead of Gmail? Or doesnt it make any big difference. I (kind of) trust my domain provider. It seems they take data privacy and security serious. Would love to hear your opinion. Many thanks in advance!

Messages can be restored from signal though I was recently arrested and I used burn time on signal same as my friend and messages was restored. Do you have any other better apps or phone that are better thanks will appreciate your awnser

As Moxxie only wants ABSOLUTE SECURITY AND PRIVACY, he has been very protective of Signal. Many requests from users has been rejected as he doesn't see them as important or useful. Basically Signal leeches on other bigger technologies without leaking or collecting meta data.
