Ever since someone brought up how Shadowstar said Bumble's death wasn't worth getting worked up over because she was just a kittypet, that greatly lowered my opinion of her. Which is such a shame because I do love her character outside of that.

@@ChimeraaasI feel like the issue is sometimes the narrative treats his views as right. Like with the whole Bumble situation. The narrative doesn’t exactly sympathize with her, her death isn’t even really treated like a sad thing. It’s treated like a sad thing for Gray Wing because now his brother is being blamed for Bumbles death. Gray Wing didn’t even like Bumble anyway. Turtle Tail, Tom, and Gray Wing even fight on Turtle Tails grave- If the narrative treated his views as like- flaws- then I wouldn’t mind but they don’t sometimes. And it’s infuriating, especially when it comes to how much he defends Clear Sky even though in some situations he really shouldn’t. Like this, this is before the great battle and despite every Clear Sky has done up to this point Gray Wing says this: "Keep your hackles down, " Gray Wing murmured as he descended the slope. "What are you doing?" Thunder stared after him, paws rooted to the grass. "We're outnumbered?' "He won't attack." Gray Wing glanced over his shoulder. "Why bring his whole camp if he doesn't mean to attack?" And what about Pebble Heart' warning? Thunder couldn't believe that Gray Wing was being so reckless. Tall Shadow padded after him. "What will he gain by harming us?" Thunder watched her go. "Clear Sky hurts cats just because he can." "I don't believe that." Gray Wing paused and met Thunder's gaze. "Are you coming or not?" And this: they gave us. From now on we have to work together peacefully, and at the next full moon we must return to this clearing to hear more messages from the spirit-cats." "Yes!" Clear Sky's voice was a shaken purr. "At last there are cats who will tell us what we have to do." Sudden understanding flashed into Thunder's mind like the dazzle of sunlight on water. "So that's why you've been so protective and so hostile!" Gray Wing turned to his brother, his gaze full of compassion. "All this time your responsibilities have been too much for you. You tried to do the right thing, but you asked too much of yourself." Clear Sky turned his head away in shame. "I'm so sorry. .. For the first time in many days, Thunder felt hope stirring inside him. Clear Sky will get guidance from the spirit-cats now, so maybe . .. Then he shook his head. Nothing will make me believe that these cats needed to die. - lol, this whole scene- after Clear Sky scars cats for not agreeing with him, is awful to Birch and his sister and even hits her when she’s a kit, is awful to Thunder, kicks out Ice for being injured on his leg without even bothering to heal him, starves his old friend, kicks out his disabled brother for being disabled, lets Storm leave and Storm has to apologize to CLEAR SKY for whatever reason even though he was being overbearing and she was tired of seeing him being an asshole- Heck, even after this Clear Sky continues, like letting One-Eye attack a baby Sparrow Fur and nearly killing her, he literally WATCHED, gets mad at his son when he wants to leave and Thunder makes some pretty good points about him, but even then both Thunder and Clear Sky were being dumb during that whole argument because Thunde remakes the argument about Star Flower for some reason even though he could’ve.. ugh.. whatever. that whole Star Flower love triangle is just dumb and unnecessary and uncomfortable lol. He continues to not be the best and is horrible once more in Moth Wings book. They even have Graystripe and Firestar defend Clear Sky because he’s just.. I guess their favorite character? And then there’s the like he ‘Finally has a mate worthy of him’- like- was Bright Stream not worthy? Was Storm not worthy? Why weren’t they worthy? Im starting to think it’s because they actually argued back against him which is something Clear Sky doesn’t take kindly to, meanwhile Star Flower rarely ever argues back and is, most of the time, agreeing with him, treating him like he did nothing wrong, etc. Im just ranting about Clear Sky at this point but uh- yeah! I’d like Gray Wing if those major flaws he had were treated as flaws and not things he’s right about. Kind of strange how when Gray Wing died Clear Sky goes back to being the way he was in Moth Flights book- lol

I just drew TallShadow/ShadowStar the other day. My favorite character design I've done so far... Even though it's a bunch of dark grey and black. She was one of my favorite characters to read about in DOTC. I honestly think DOTC has become my favorite arc... Other than the first ofc. You can't beat the start of it all.

Thank you for acknowledging how the information in the Secrets of the Clans field guide is what was passed down by word of mouth and not necessarily what actually happened. You know, I've always wondered about stories from the early Clans that involve SkyClan and how they would have been distorted by elders (not wanting to talk to kits about a Clan that was driven out) until the original versions were forgotten. Did ShadowStar ever get blamed for something Skystar was the one to do in real life?

I haven't read Dotc, but I seriously wish all the clan leaders (Minus Riverstar so he can stay mysterious) were povs. Thunderstar and Skystar being the only clan founder povs was an awful choice I think, even if I've heard great things about Gray Wing.

I think her mom probably died. Because if your look on her wiki page it basically says she had a unnamed father but no comfirmed mom it would also explain alot of her personality like her slightly extreme grief over her brothers death, her gaurdedness, her shyness and how much she tries to hide her emotions sometimes. The book also never mentions her having parents or anything or any real backstory anyways so it's basically up to us. It could be sort of like how bluestar reacted to moonflowers death. Also i just remembered her father is also canonically dead or atleast gone since we don't hear from him dotc but he is mentioned by one cat saying she got her fathers temper so that could've also been kind of traumatic for her especially if her mother also died and than having to lose her brother. Also she did have some cats to confide her emotions too like riverstar in one scene riverstar helped her deal with her brothers death ane taught her meditation. Also outside of graywing if you remember the novella her clans medicine cat pebbleheart ( i think? One of graywings kits) also helped her cope with her emotions and actually taught her breathing tactics. Also the book never says Shadowstar and graywing stopped being friends at some point. I'm pretty sure she was kind of close with yim throughout the arc if I'm remembering correctly until he died in the end.

I'll be honest I struggled to know if Sunnyvoid was an a.i. voice or just a really heavily edited one.. either way, it really scratches my brain in the worst possible way, I apologize if it sounds rude, but I really hope that the voice changes to sound a bit more... void-like, and less like they've been smoking illegal substances for 20 years
