As a 59 yr. old native zonie and lifelong outdoorsman, ( did first Supai at 12 ) I will bet anything that garbage was from no other than the Supais themselves.. I won't relate why I know this as fact but a trekker will pick it up as I always (yesterday in fact) pick garbage off "my beach" Amazing Pismo Beach.. Looking forward to my EBC in April 2020..

Lol I'm loving this! I can't believe they are running this. I so can't wait to go back there. One of my favorite places, too. 😊
@KerryWard5 жыл бұрын
It is JUST enough off the beaten path that it is still a super cool place to get to - not quite overrun. Harder to get the permits in place to do the trip now with the insta-demand.
@plawton355 жыл бұрын
@@KerryWard I would agree with that from the feedback I'm seeing on the discussion. I think I'm going to try to get one of the transfers or one that they couldn't use. I hope it works out. Again..WONDERFUL VIDEO! If you ever need a hiking buddy, I'm in! Have a blessed day. 😊👍

The fact that you are running down into a canyon holding a camera and talking is impressive enough for me. Wow!

What fun for a lump like me to be a talented athlete for an hour, especially as the talent allows me to go to such a beautiful place, one that I could not get to otherwise.

Thx Kerry to show us one of the most beautifullest places on earth. We have to go there! That was a great video of your hike. All the best from Germany.

Wow Awesome scenery. This is motivating me to run again. And.... that is great Nicholas Coolidge from ANW, cool.
Beautifully captured. I really want to visit the US and come to Supai.

This is my first comment on youtube. I find your video absolutely inspiring, that is definitely something I have to do before I die. It also gave me the push I needed to start running again.

+Goncalo Morgado How wonderful to hear that this is both your first comment - and that the video is inspiring to you. So glad to know that it made a positive impact on someone. Enjoy your upcoming runs.

Kerry, we gotta find a way to block the wind from your mic ... It's your signature sound !!!

Right? I hate that it is like that. The more sophisticated audio setups are just too much trouble and hassle for the light way I travel. Maybe one day it will be better with advancing techniques.

Hiked and camped through there the year before the flood. Definitely beautiful, one-of-a-kind spot. Prefer cameras that point the other way-scenery, rather than videographer. Took a bunch of addicts in early recovery down and up the chain-cave maze. No problems, just concentrate and use 3-point.

Thank you so much for your work to bring us these videos. Love all your videos and your rants about littering (not sure if it was this video or the last). I hate when people litter. Just started to run again and hoping one day i can do an ultra. Thanks again. Just subbed.

That bug is called a "tarantula hawk". It's a giant wasp that lays its eggs in tarantulas, so that's pretty Arizona right there.

Awesome Video! I was not ready for to jump into the water without a warning! lol Thanks for sharing helpful tips and I can't wait to visit! You mentioned that you have visited at least 4x's do you mind sharing the best method that you found successful when obtaining the permits?

I've been going for so long that getting permits wasn't a problem. Not sure how to navigate it now. Good luck.

hi, the nicest video on the Havasu subject.. Hiking to the confluence in a week. 43.20 is this a side trip or is this on the trail. When you take a dip and Carol stays on the bank I don't see the trail. I am talking about the section where you sit on the bench and then you climbing down to the creek. thanks
@FullTiltTeams6 жыл бұрын
The trail can be a challenge to sniff out. There are numerous creek crossings and sometimes you need to scale little walls to keep moving forward. But since you are in a canyon, there are not too many options, so it generally works out. The part you mention is on the 'trail' from the campground area to the Colorado River.

Nice video. It's not crowded at all. It's good that you have to hike 10 miles to get there or it would be swamped with people. Do you remember what make of hat you were wearing? It looks almost like terrycloth.

Seen the rafts in the canyon creek. Is that an activity available?
@KerryWard5 жыл бұрын
That is something you can do, but you start way up in the grand Canyon. Not wear we were. It's a tough thing to do as so many people want to try it. So it is an expensive and difficult trip to schedule if you want to do rafting in the Grand Canyon

Can I ask what the camera is that you used for this video? I'm hoping I can get tickets to do this next year as I am coming over from Scotland. I am so enthusiastic and excited about it...It will be my first proper hike. So I'm happy to soak up ALL the advice I can find. :)

Thanks for the video and thanks for picking up the trash. Anyone hiking this, or any other trail, PLEASE PICK UP YOUR TRASH. It is not cool to litter. The damage you do is irreversible. It I ever see you littering I'm going to social shame you the whole hike down.
