Your workshop rough but it is neater than mine. But it is great to see a shop that isn't neat to the point of being unattainable. I appreciate you. Saw track is on my I can do list!

yeah all these ultra fancy youtube workshops are nice to watch but so unrealistic

Thanks dude. TBF it's only as neat as it is, which isn't very, because I film when the camera is off all hell breaks loose 😅😅😅

Thank you. I was all set to purchase a track saw. You just saved me lots of money.

Glad I could help. I find these great for shorter work and as they are lighter they aren't as hard to move around when you are working on your own if you make an 8ft one

hello mike. So, I set to and made myself a pair of tracks and dedicated a makita saw to them. They had a lot of use and so I thought "up your game Bob". I did and now have a new saw, Four tracks, clamps, extra blades and all. I gave the home made set to my son (and the saw) and what happens, I retire and most of my new kit is virtually unused.... Still, we need extra CD storage and bookshelves! Bob (Weston super mare)

Great work mate, I hope you keep getting views and grow your channel. You have a wonderful irish accent that a lot of people will enjoy. I like your "We work with what we have approach". Instead of seeing other channels thinking everyone watching can just go and spend a couple of hundred and think that's inexpensive. Keep doing what you're doing! If I could make some suggestions though. Set up the shot and make sure its prepped before you do the final take, plan what you will say if you need to it will make you look more professional. Keep the humour and make sure your shop looks tidy and clean behind you. Safe practise and all that is also very inspiring to new woodworkers like myself. I have only been doing woodworking for a year and love to see what other peoples shops look like. You have earned a like share and a sub from me. Keep grinding the 1% rule. If you get 1% better at anything every time you do it. 100 times later you will be 100% better at it.

Thanks so much for commenting and enjoying the vids and also for your kind words of advice. I always try to have each video a little better...but cleaning was always my weak point 😅

Good tips, Michael. I've made several of these, though they are called shooting boards where I am, probably because of the perceived similarity to the hand plane shooting board which no one but a hand tool user knows about. I've seen many young woodworkers using track saws to trim decking boards on a porch or deck, with some amusement. Learning to cut a straight line using a chalk line mark was an expected skill when I started building. Apparently that skill is beyond this younger bunch today. I know, be careful, fragile egos and limited skill sets are easy trigger points.

I agree with ya the track saw is excellent in it's correct use case but I started all this well before they were thought up. Joys of growing up in a woodworking family i learned how to cut straight and true before i was out of nappys was in the shed as soon as I could walk 😅😅😅

Dude 🤯! I was just thinking about this for my workshop. Legend thank you. It seems like we both are making stuff out of pallet and scrap wood. Sorry to be cheeky but I've just uploaded my new video showing my joining and mitre jigs for the table saw and curious what you think about it. Your feedback would be really helpful as I'm just starting. All the best and I'm waiting for your new videos.
