I don't know what bothers me more, the fact that I was playing a peta propaganda game when I was 7 without knowing it, or the fact that it was actually one of the better made mario themed flash games for its time, which was the reason why I kept coming back to it.

It was either this or Monolith's Mario, Hungry Mario, Starcatcher, Powercoins or Paper Mario World ...and the quality of those was quite hit and miss. Peta's flash games were mostly dodgy rubbish but whoever created this seems pretty competent. Even as a kid I could tell there was something off though. All the in-your-face talking points and visible gore were noted but I just chalked it up to the usual Newgrounds edginess of the day.

I was 8-10 (don't know exactly) when I played this game and it was always kind of creepy to me because I could read the texts and understood that that was supposed to be blood, the cutscene music also creeped me out. But creepy things made me curious and the game wasn't bad so I kept on playing, lol. Me and my friends didn't think much of it though. After reading the comments here, I'd just like to add, PETA does not define Veganism. Saying they define the movement as a whole is like saying that the Kardashians define Reality TV as a whole, or that Malcolm X or Martin Luther King define the Civil Rights Movement as a whole, or that Gandhi is the only thing that matters in Indian Independence. These industries and movements are full of people, some do some shitty things, some do some cool things, some are a mixture. Don't let PETA get in the way of understanding how horrendous animal agriculture is, especially factory farming.

Since this game was made in 2007, Colonel Sanders, the founder of KFC died in 1980 at the age of 90, and in 1980, Pam Anderson was only 13, and in this game, she would've been 40. PETA used to make these videos showing Colonel Sanders abusing chickens, even though nowadays that would be disrespecting the dead.

I remember playing this game back in 2007-09. I was a wee Elementary School lad then. Now I'm in my mid 20s and am Vegan. Not because of PETA though. Standard industry practices for killing chickens are horrendous, and most of us don't even know about them. The fact that Chickens are crammed in tight cages or sheds, pluck at each other's dead rotting bodies, develop horrible diseases from these conditions, hens are fattened up and bred to produce eggs to such an extent their legs wear out under their weight and they're incessantly birthing eggs, and that male chicks are deemed useless to the poultry industry, so are ground up or suffocated in bags en masse. Yeah, all that is real, and standard. That doesn't even get into the health or environmental side of things. Consider not eating chicken. There are lots of plant-based chicken options, and even some upcoming cell-based and precision fermented chicken out there.
