Super Easy Way To Extract Ink From Large Volume CANON PFI Carts such as the 700ML carts for the CANON IPF PRO-2000 4000 6000!
Why would I want to aspirate these inks anyway?
Because that would be only way to print at the best possible quality on the PRO-1000!
But what about the brand new Signature Edition inks for the PRO-1000 from Preciscioncolors.com ???
You will still need an OEM source of inks for RED - Yellow - Blue in order to Achieve as close to OEM results as possible.
So using the method I show here on some smaller volume carts, you will be able to correctly aspirate or harvest inks as needed.

Good video, I was looking for tip like this so I can keep my Canon 5100 going with the original canon ink. I got about 12 Canon ink cartridge like the 110 ml for about $15 from a fellow who got rid of his Canon printer last week. Great to know there is a less messy way to extract ink out of this cartridges. I will be looking at some 700ml ink cartridge since ink for a 5100/8000 are as cheap as $80.

Thank you, Jose. I actually did my first extraction from a Canon large format cartridge tonight. I was able to extract about 130 ml of ink from an old Canon wide format cartridge. I did make a small mess of the extraction, I lost a few drop of the ink because I plugged the extraction syringe and needle into the air vent and other part into the ink exit hole. Once that is corrected I was able to pull out 100 ml of ink easily in about a couple of minutes time and then I extract the remaining 30 ml by roast the cartridge side way and as the ink level dropped in the cartridge you will get a lot of air filling the extracting syringe. By the way I was using a 100 ml syringe and a standard refill needle that is about 10 cm long. For anyone who is interested in using original ink for their Canon printer this is definitely the way to go. Next I will try the 700 ml and 330 ml cartridges.

CANON PRO-1000 / 2000 /4000 / 6000 use their own red. PRO-1 / PRO-10 use their own red.

Hi Jose. What large Carts are compatible with the Pro 10? Also, During the refilling process, is it possible to always top up a cartridge up when its at low and never trigger an empty?

Carts from the PRO1000 TO THE PRO6000 No you cannot just continually top off. The chip will declare it empty when 29 pm has pass through the printhead. But why do you even worry about that? The chips can be reset at any time.

Inkowl and Inkjetcarts.us have refillable inks for these printers. You can of course extract ink from PFI-707, PFI-207 but price on these cartridges make it a lot less appealing than some of the other Canon cartridges. 700 ml cartridge like PFI-701/2, PFI-703, PFI-706 are about half the price of PFI-707.
