More that mario is the chief enforcer of the mushroom kingdom's law, being the one who has to save peach every time bowser kidnaps her. The fact that hes in debt to the mafia means he has to tackle the problem directly, even if it means recruiting help from family or random companions. Trying to get Peach to pay the mafia off was never going to work.

Perhaps the serious deflation that recently occurred in the Mushroom Kingdom has something to do with that? After all, a life’s price dropped to 10 coins by Odyssey. Maybe Mario’s debt to the mob was manageable at first, but then his earnings went way down but his debt didn’t decrease accordingly so suddenly his debt was effectively ten times larger even though it hadn’t actually changed…

The fastest wr for any % (as of typing this) is 56:55, which would equate to over 5.6k coins, not to mention they didn't have this mod so they didn't get that many coins so you'd need at least 6 thousand AT MINIMUM **IF YOU GO FAST* BUT that doesn't count Collecting times SO you actually end up spending MORE time to get coins which if you do so for a minute you gotta get more than 60 coins to make up for said time loss, SO each collected moon grants 10 seconds but every death costs 10 seconds, so you basically have to deathless the game unless you hava Plan B
