Rainn Wilson does 'sad comedy' better than anyone else. (Although I can only think of one other person who does it - Ricky Gervais). I love this movie so much. It's harrowing, but hilarious. Sweet, and hardcore. I want more like this.

One of my favourite movies. I bought the DVD in 2012 and then bought the official soundtrack. Though they are very different films, there are some parallels between this movie and Joker. They're both about men who wage campaigns of bloody violence following psychiatric breakdowns caused by tragic events in their lives. Whereas the Joker turns to horrifying criminal acts, Frank sets out to clean up the streets in his own bumbling amateurish way, and to avenge the criminals who destroyed what meagre happiness he had enjoyed. What does Super have in common with Guardians of the Galaxy? The same wacky director, James Gunn.

Maybe? There was an Easter egg reference but it seems too tonally different from brightburn to be set in the same universe so I'm just chalking it up as maybe the movie existing in that universe, or maybe a version of him existing there that's more of a serous vigilante.

I love both Kick-ass and this movie. I think this hits more people with realism than Kick-ass because, "Big Daddy" was pretty much a super cop, and trained his daughter, though "Kick-ass" was a regular old kid like other people. And him and "The Crimson Bolt" were really both ordinary people, but at least "TCB" was smarter with his fighting. WHEN IS THIS MOVIE FUCKING COMING OUT SO I CAN TELL CRIME TO SHUT UP CAUSE I'M WATCHING AN EPIC MOVIE FOR THE 10th TIME???????
