I'm glad that Liam is the only best friend that isn't super close minded about Pokemon games and has played at least 1 game from each gen. I personally think every new gen is better than the last, but gen 5 was pretty awesome, I especially loved Black 2. The gen 5 games were pretty challenging too, which isn't as prevalent in gen 6. I should also hand it to Matt and even Pat for acknowledging that Garchomp is a badass. But if they had Tyranitar in there, now that's the TRUE KAIJU pokemon.

Finally I agree with Liam on something. BLACK & WHITE WERE AMAZING. Everyone always says "They're out of ideas; theres an ice cream cone & a garbage bag" You know there's also a japanese woodcutter, a gangster lizard, a hydra, a royal anaconda, a Mewtwo foil, an archaeopteryx, a DRAGON WITH AN AXE FOR A FACE, THE THREE MUSKETEERS AS STAGS, AND TH BEST FUCKING PLOT SINCE THE FIRST MOVIE.

What? How is it forced? It's the only movie in which Ash actually has some personal stakes and isn't just "the chosen one" saving the world from random evil legendary of the week. Not to mention it's the only one with the balls to deal with some actually pretty deep and psychological subject matter.

It might just be me, but I think an all-fighting type cast be a MASSIVE missed opportunity. There are so many unique Pokemon that bring strange fighting styles to the table you can't get in other fighting games. Why on earth would you want to limit yourself to the most humanlike Pokemon, with the most basic of attacks, when you can have fighters that are poison snakes, KLK mantises, torpedo sharks, sea monsters, lightning dogs, ice golems, literal dinosaurs, mafia crows, metal-haired Futakuchi-onna, yeti pine trees, and the FUCKING MOON? But no, go on and want Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan. Their one-gimmick moveset is SUPER creative.

Exactly. It wouldn't even be in the Tekken spirit to limit themselves to just fighting types, since they go out of their way to create unique and unorthodox fighters. Tekken has fighters that are demons, bears, cheetah men, wooden robots, magical girls, the list goes on. This isn't Street Fighter, Tekken always had wacky stuff in it.

Gen 1 sucks cock compared to Gen 2, starting on Gen 1 myself playing Gen 2 was fucking amazing. COLOR for one, and Leafgreen and FireRed don't count that's Gen 3. Being a Gen oner is like saying "THE PINNACLE OF MOVIES WAS SILENT MOVIES" sure it was innovative and great but look at what we're made now, even back then the stuff right after was completely amazing! Lucario's "Staff" is actually the move Bone Rush. It was first shown to be able to do that in the Diamond and Pearl anime where a Gym Leader's Lucario used it while battling Dawn and Ash

I don't really give too many shits about Gens, but Pearl Diamond and Platinum were my favourite games and I want them to get remade so then I won't care any more. I played up to X and Y and stopped there. That being said Blaziken and Electivire are my favourites.

+technoskull Not at all. I consider myself a Genwunner. I enjoy Gens 2 and 3 quite well, absolutely love them. Gen 6 is tied for my favorite with Gen 1. Partially because Gen 6 ACTUALLY had good designs for the majority of it's Pokemon other than the Slurpuff line and Klefki and also because it had a huge focus on Gen 1 pokemon. However I firmly believe that other than twenty or so pokemon from them, gens 4 and 5 have shit designs when it comes to Pokemon. Gen 5 has the best story, but the designs for most of the pokemon are complete crap. The fact that they didn't even allow you to capture older pokemon made it even worse. But at least it wasn't Gen 4.

+jamtex Well Aegislash is a sword, one would think physical attack for a sword wouldn't they? It also can only learn two STAB special atks through TMs, Shadow Ball and Flash Cannon, Chandelure can learn 12 including Heat Wave, Flame Burst, Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Overheat, Night Shade and Inferno.

Technically, I believe it's that Machoke and Machamp CAN'T CONTROL IT! They have so much power that they need those belts to contain their massive amounts of power so that they can appropriately use it without getting themselves hurt. So yeah, basically destroying the belt woudl get your trainer's lisence revoked and cause every trainer on earth to smack you for doing something so dumb.

I think the energy sword thing with Lucario is a giant bone. They can learn Bone Rush and Bonerang i think, similar to cubone, so they interpret that as a cool staff in this game
