A little trick after cutting fiberglass, when u take a shower that night do it in cold water, it keeps your pores from opening up and the fiberglass strands from getting deeper into your skin. Its not a complete fix but it does help. Enjoying the build.

Good trick for fast relief has the same issue with graphite or carbon fiber all it causes the same issue rub some baby powder over your skin instant relief haven’t cut any since then but heard you can do it right before and prevents the itch as well was the tip I got.

I love the cat just chilling acting like it's totally normal for cats to do that on a boat. And I've got to applaud you. Usually when you see guys doing radical modifications like this they act all macho. I noticed you usually wear eye/ear protection when necessary. Very smart. I shouldn't but I love watching videos of macho guys NOT being safe when they should and paying for it the hard way.

Killer job on the transom. I hope you put a street bike engine in it lol. Its gonna be a killer blat tho witch ever route you take to build it. 😁👍
@vetten763 жыл бұрын
You always have to start it with an open exhaust. Great video. Well done.
@jm-ux5dk3 жыл бұрын
Ohh the itch of hell 😅 I personally would have put a couple of biax on the inner of the transom, and a few Ali plates for the mounts of the stern drive, they have a tendancy to be very hard on the transom structure, essentially the boat is being picked up and waved around by the transom. I can't wait to see the waterline on this little ripper 😁 great project so far..
@kennethrea793 жыл бұрын
You might want to look into a jet drive off a jet ski
@chrisanderson73704 жыл бұрын
Nice job but next time you need to set the drive so that the anti cavity plate is level with the bottom of the hull and offset it 25mm or so to the right to counter act the torque of the propeller 👍🏻
@chopperhehehe3 жыл бұрын
How nice was that to watch. I would say therapeutic Gorgeous builds 👍👍👍😜🏴🙂🦕🤞✌

That stern drive is too large & too heavy for that little boat. Once you add the motor, torque convertor, drive shaft coupler, gas tank,and 2 humans you'll exceed the safe weight of that tiny boat., Be safe
@homemade_madness4 жыл бұрын
Sean Signer yeah im a bit worried about that too. Well see how it floats first and then maybe add more flotation or remove weight later
@kapilista4 жыл бұрын

Yeah you can add flotation pods in the rear. Pretty common on aluminium boats

Nice and funny project. But Would rather get a yamaha/tohatsu 3 cyl 40-60 hp 2-stroke engine and put on that transome. It is probably not a lot hevyer than that volvo penta drive alone. Or maybe try to make some kind of surface drive with less drag and gain more speed to go with the honda vtr engine 🙂

Literally took a nice swipe and getting copd before he 40. Fiberglass like that is incredibly bad, need a tyvec suit and respirator. Can't stress enough how much damage you just did to your lungs. For your skin, if you get fiberglass in it, use a lint roller.

That stern drive is waaayyy to big dude.... Apart from being to heavy for that hull (it's probably heavier than the 20hp you just removed), it's to long. It's ment for a much bigger vessel. The cavitation plate is ment to be level with the bottom of the hull or higher. I'm sorry to sound like a downer....but it's not going to work very well mate. 😕

Thats a 280 DP, usally used with the volvo penta 5.7L. So a licensed chevy 350 v8. That is a really big AQ. Why not use a lot smaller, and one with SP? A 110 would work perfect, half the weight, one prop and still rated for up to 140bhp..? Just thinking.
