So strange that I have never seen Brazil nuts for sale here in Chile (Latin American neighbour) and my Chilean husband has never heard of them, but I had no problem finding them when I lived in Canada. Sad, too, as I loved them. I'm guessing it's like grapes and raisins which are hard to find here domestically although Chile is a major exporter of both :/ messed up.

Let me tell you my own story about walnuts..... 20 years ago my cholesterol was high and my blodd pressure too...... Thanks to my GP Doctor, who was a Nutrizionist too, I started to eat 6 cracked walnuts every day ( 6 times a week) at lunch finishing with an apple too ..... here I am a 78 ...... never been hospitalized so far ( keep the finger crossed)....... all blood test result levels are ok (cholesterol and .glycemia too)... To eat walnuts every days is a very good and healthy habit, than you can add and drink 2/3 espresso coffees ( high in antioxidants and booster of physical activity) )in the morning from 8 to noon...... and in the afternoon an herbal tea (infusion) of Ginger (strong ally of the stomach and digestion) and Turmeric (great purifying action with extraordinary antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties).. As I woke up in the morning I drink 2 glasses of spring water while the stomach i still empty. to clean the kidneys from the toxins of the night ..A healthy way to start the day too .... Finally walnuts are considered a superfood for your brain (same shape once you have cracked them) (I still remember things very well, I do not suffer with senile dementia (Alzhaimer's desease) and they are healthy to for your heart too...a natural supplement against heart attack.......

As for Flaxseeds having phytoestrogen, it's pretty much plant estrogen, and DOESN'T have the same effects as mammalian estrogen. It has no effect on our estrogen levels, just like soy products. The relationship of soy is commensalism-- women heavily benefits from soy products, while men it doesn't do harm, or is as beneficial as it is for women
@kwbalance1086 жыл бұрын
In excess it can pose issue as it will fill the receptors meant for estrogen, causing too much of the hormone to circulate in the serum. Not in excess? Then as Emeleo said, flax and soy (and other nuts and seeds with phytoestrogens and lignans) are perfect fine.
