This must be the greatest Beatles song that the Beatles didn't write. Masterpiece

See, everyone talks about Blur; Oasis; Pulp; Suede but for me Supergrass defined the British music scene in the 90's, totally original and an outstanding live act, totally underrated IMO...

Blur turned out to be great in my opinion. I loved the weird directions they ended up taking, but yeah, Supergrass were rocking right from the word go. That tune Time on I Should Coco, for example sounds like it was played by fellas a lot older than 19 or whatever age they were when they first emerged. I'm just glad you didn't mention Richard Ashcroft! That guy is the biggest spoofer going!

I can remember when I first heard them. It was 1996 and I was in a record store in Chicago and the owner was playing their first album. I couldn't believe it had just been released. Buzzcocks, the Jam and the Who all in one, yet unaffected and originally performed by such young talented lads. Never interested in running a useless race, Supergrass continued to make great music long after the fever of Brit Pop waned.

I found their CD "In it for the Money" in Beijing as a 'waste cut out CD' back in the late 90's. I still have it. The cut went into the disc about 1/4" but the didn't touch any of the tracks so it still plays fine. I took a chance on it because I liked the cover and it was (of course) cheap.

They are kinda forgotten, which is annoying. I love three of their songs (which is more than I can say for many other bands); sun hits the sky, this one and pumping on your stereo. I'm sure if I listened to their albums I'd find more to like. I'd completely forgotten about them myself. It's only because I've been on a 90s binge listening to Ocean Colour Scene, Blur, Kula Shaker and Suede did they eventually show up in the related section.
