Thanks Pascal for this training session that will surely make my muscles a mash-up of pain but it is all for a good cause. I've put away the rollers ;-( but ice skating will start (for me) on Dec 14!!! Legs of steel ;-)

Have been doing this for a few weeks, mainly at home. At the start I struggled with the stability on the skater jumps and one-legged squats, I'm feeling much stronger now. Has also helped with football too :)

Pascal, I understand the reason for advertising, but with this particular video it would be good if the ads did not appear in the middle of the exercise routine since it is designed as a timed sequence. The ads in the middle disrupt the routine. Thanks-

I did this workout today finally. I found that if I try to keep my back straight for the static position hold that it gets really difficult! For me, anyway. It's still a challenge for me to keep my back straight when skating in a low position, so this is really good for me ^_^

Thanks for this video! Viktor Thorup made a few similar videos that have been pretty helpful in my training. It's nice to have a few more exercises with some additional explanation :) I've always wondered how best to balance this kind of training and skating. Some weeks where the weather is nice or I have indoor practice sessions I just skate all week without doing any of this kind of strength building exercise. Whenever I go to the gym when I could be skating I wonder if my time would be better spent just skating more. What are your thoughts on this? Also, do you have any recommendations for an app to use for timing your intervals? I've been using the stopwatch setting on my Fit Bit, but it doesn't have an alarm so I have to keep looking at it to check the time.
@ThePascalbriand6 жыл бұрын
Zefiris i think it mostly better to skate but if you have opportunity to skate often then it’s very good to have this kind of workout regularly at least once a week. Better than one sometimes which would give you sore muscle.
@ThePascalbriand6 жыл бұрын
Zefiris I don’t have an app for split time ... I use a little stop watch :-) next time I will put alarm noise to tell when workout start and stop.... better than only the music difference

This is awesome! Question: For someone like me out of shape or without enough strength on legs yet... should I do less exercise or better change slightly the rest/excercise intervals? And what about the "back pain" as I use to be more like an urban skater and my back isn't used to be that low, should I do, for example, planks on the ground or better try this directly?
@chemedev5 жыл бұрын
Forgot to say: thank you so much for your dedication to help skaters all around the world!
@ThePascalbriand5 жыл бұрын
you can start directly this but it may be hard at start so just change interval…. you can do 20/40 instead to start …. plank can help for back pain more than just this.
@disguisedrat51593 жыл бұрын
I wonder if i will have back pain or not when doing this exercise.
@ThePascalbriand3 жыл бұрын
Probably not back pain ... but leg and glutes almost guarantee :-)
@disguisedrat51593 жыл бұрын
@@ThePascalbriand This exercises look wrong to me because they don't have straight back, but it's because of the sport's nature, isn't it?
@ThePascalbriand3 жыл бұрын
@@disguisedrat5159 no need to have straight back. Actually skater have advantage having rounded back to place the hip in a better position to maintain a side push. Still exercice work if you put your back straight... but I have naturally a rounded position so all good. Actually I notice that in skating most people having back lower pain are people with very straight track position.
