At 16:55 there was a "Death of Superman" story that took place in the comics during the Silver-Age that was an "Imaginary Story" where Lex Luthor had turned over a new leaf to which Superman fell for it as he was later betrayed and strapped to a table and doused in Kryptonite rays as Jimmy Olson and Lois Lane watched in horror as Lex gleefully cranked up the rays. Supes dies and Lex extradited to the bottle city of Kandor where I think they banished him forever into the Phantom Zone. Supergirl takes on Superman's mission and life goes on in this Imaginary tale. The Kryptonite Ray had nothing to do with the actual canon Death of Superman in 1992.

Sending y'all a little bit of shame, RE: the Margot Kidder "got fired or died in between movies" quip. Doing a little homework and exhibiting some sensitivity wouldn't have hurt here, friends. "Superman IV" came out in 1987, and -- yes -- Margot Kidder is in it, albeit briefly. However, her mental health was on the decline and she received a diagnosis of bipolar disorder in 1988, which she rejected at the time. Eventually -- in April 1996, she had a manic episode and disappeared for four days. After being found in a stranger's backyard -- with the caps on her teeth having been knocked out during a rape attempt, she was placed into psychiatric care.

Trivia : Annie Ross who played Vera, Robert Vaughn's "ugly sister, " in Superman III, was actually in Superman II as well. She did the voice of Ursa, girlfriend of General Zod. Apparently, the Producers felt that Sarah Douglas who physically played Ursa, had a natural voice that was considered too weak for the character. So Annie Ross (Vera) was brought in to re-dub her lines with her deeper huskier voice.

But then there's also some weird anti-Semitic comments he made, but also he was zionist? Idk, a very confusing man for sure.
@fuzzydunlop79283 жыл бұрын
@@pan-semitistcommunist4181 Brando likely suffered from SOME kind of mental illness, on top of separate kind of erratic or even histrionic temperament. The man felt strongly, and likely changed his mind often. Not to say he was disingenuous, though. I’m sure he truly did believe whatever he may have said at a given time - this was just subject to change. Ultimately, I find it best to take these kinds of public figure system with a grain of salt when it comes to something they may have said or written. I’m sure Brando confused and conflicted with himself just as much.

This one is worth watching just for the junkyard fight.

I say just watch the junkyard fight and skip the rest of the film.

All i’ve been thinking about when james says “it’s entirely possible” is that joe rogan edit and BEN FINALLY DID IT!

I'm very confused that Superman had to rescue a man from drowning in a car on dry land. I can't even imagine how that would happen, no matter how many hijinks.

There was a fire hydrant involved.

Ben from Canada definitely flipped through the whole Death of Superman comic trying to find the panel with the radiation that James is talking about but he couldn't because that scene is in Reign of Superman when the Cyborg Superman fires the kryptonite radiation at Black Suit Superman but the Eradicator Superman jumps in front of Black Suit Superman and purifies it healing Black Suit Superman OBVIOUSLY JAMES YOU BLOODY MUPPET

It's got Annette O'Toole, robots, acid, alcoholism, Superman gets laid, it's got everything. You've gotta be nuts not to like Superman 3.

I unironically love this film, and i find it funny, scary and moving on its own terms. Presumably because i got to etch it into my brain by watching it on video endlessly as a kid.

If you look closely at the video game part of the movie, you’ll notice that it was actually not created by a computer, despite what Atari claimed. If you look at the pixels on Superman, they rotate as he rotates. That’s not how pixels work - they should stay parallel with the graphics grid. The effect was most likely a traditional hand-animated piece.
