Castiel being turned into a toy is such an iconic moment. What I find interesting about Jesse, other than him being the first Antichrist introduction on the show, is that both Winchester brothers can relate to him. Usually, it's just Sam who relates to those who are different or considered freaks, but this time Dean can as well. Sam relates to Jesse being the Chosen One and set up to be something evil but has the choices to take that and make something good come out of it. Dean relates to the now lost childhood that Jesse has because he now knows the things (demons, angels, etc.) that are out there and has this responsibility on his shoulders and has to grow up fast. And that ending car scene, you can't help but feel for Sam and Dean. I mean, yes, John told them the things he did for a reason but look at what that cost them.

One very big thing you need to keep in mind about this series at this point is that angels are not inherently good. Cass said it himself back at the beginning of season 4. I'm paraphrasing a bit, but the gist of what he said was "Read the bible. We're not benevolent protectors, we're soldiers. Instruments of God's will". Basically, they're not meant to think or feel or make choices. They were created with a specific purpose: follow orders, and do so unquestioningly. Anna even said in her episode: "I disobeyed. That's our murder one." Basically, she's saying the WORST crime an angel can commit is not following orders. And another major problem here is that according to Raphael, God is dead, or at least, isn't around and thus isn't giving the orders anymore, so any hope that he's got a grand plan for good to prevail or will step in and stop the Apocalypse if things get too bad is unreliable at best. His absence also means that the archangels are giving the orders, and those orders are to follow what they believe is God's will. And unfortunately, the word of God that's recorded in the Bible has prophecized the apocalypse, so the archangels have decided that they'll make it happen. Angles are basically just and army of divinity powered early season one Dean Winchesters. Unquestioningly following the will of an absentee father figure, despite the fact that they don't even know for sure what that will is.

Well, we have our first appearance of an Antichrist in this show. It's about time. They're badass, even if they must die for the fate of the world. Although all the lies Jesse believed ended up being fatal in some way, they were kinda cool. Obviously, they'd be more cool if they didn't kill people, but they were still pretty cool, for the most part. That demon pregnancy story is heartbreaking. Demons really don't give a damn. I want that Castiel action figure. Imagine being able to say that you have an action figure of a fallen angel who was trying to kill an Antichrist but got turned into this instead. Clearly it isn't real, but it's still dope to have. Guess Jesse's gone for now. Hope we see him again. And of course, it ain't a Supernatural episode without the super meaningful and/or depressing conversation in the car at the end. This one hurt even more though, because they mentioned John. Awesome reaction guys! Excited for the next! 💯🔥

Poor Jesse. He is such a cool little kid. But what a responsibility to lay on him. Being part demon means he is more powerful than the demon who fathered him. Even if he was raised human, he would still have those powers & if he were to use them, then then demons would be able to find him & that would be bad. You made this old lady very happy with another reaction episode already but the discussion afterwards had me in stitches. I don't remember when I found out about Santa & the others but the big lie for me was that I was adopted & I found out when I was 8 & went snooping through my parents drawers & found papers. John telling his sons the truth might not seem fair but it was the right thing to do. Yellow eyes would have come for Sam sooner or later and it's thanks to John preparing Sam and Dean for it that helped them survive. If anyone was to blame for their childhood it's Mary because she was the one who made the deal and didn't even tell her husband that a demon would enter their home in 10 years.
