I love that the casket guy addressed one of the major issues in America, and that’s the portion sizes that are served and viewed as normal when they’re not. Hearing his also say that an 11 year old needed a casket that size… that’s absolutely heartbreaking. Those parents failed that child.

You can’t say anything about parents like that here in the US because they are often people of color and/or poor so no one will address this issue or you’ll be called a racist. And no one here holds themselves accountable for anything because everyone is pushing a victim narrative.

He did make a small mistake though. He said it used to be 6oz for a hamburger then said a 1/3 pound is too big. 1/3 of a pound is just under 6oz. The bigger sizes he was complaining about like 11, 12 oz is well over half a pound. It was probably just a slip of the tongue, but it had me doubting how big a pound was so I looked it up 😂

I can relate to Nathan’s situation of his Nan feeding him! My parents didn’t know what to do with me when I was losing weight rapidly because I wasn’t eating so my Nan used to take me in for weeks until I got back to a healthy weight! She used to give me 3 meals plus supper and snacks all traditional English food and she taught me how to love food again by teaching me about cooking the food and the different components to make a meal as well as why it’s important to make time to eat x

@parrotarts4637
@parrotarts4637 4 жыл бұрын
Any longer can cause health and mental health issues. It’s not healthy for the super skinny to stuff that much and nor is it healthy for the super sizer to eat so little. You can’t go cold-turkey like that and it’s why recovering from an eating disorder can take 6 years. It takes lots of time
@parrotarts4637

And the swap isn’t really meant to spark an appetite/cause hunger. It’s meant more for them to realize “I’m eating way too much” or “I’m not eating enough”. It’s more of a mental challenge to get them to realize that what they’re doing isn’t healthy

To me, it seems the Supersize people lose weight easier than superskinny people gaining weight.
@chocobotaxi4506
@chocobotaxi4506 5 жыл бұрын
They do! Skinny people can't just eat highly caloric things to gain weight and then switch to healthy food, that'd be a recipe for disaster, and eating a lot over what they need in calories would be a bit tricky too, so the rate at which they gain weight is pretty good. As for the Supersize people, they end up eating fewer calories than someone a healthy weight should eat and since they are obese, their body requires more calories just to move and for the heart to beat, so they lose weight very quickly at the beginning since they have a higher than average caloric need and a lower than required calories intake :)
@chloejennings8702
@chloejennings8702 5 жыл бұрын
It's easier when you are making changes like going from 2000 calorie meals to a balanced and healthy diet, you're going to lose weight quickly. When gaining weight they are going from healthy and small or not a lot to just a slightly higher calorie intake so the weight goes on slower

@@byebyebae I can see how this would be strange from a straight person's point of view. A lot of LGBT people grew up seeing little to no representation of themselves in media, or media would use LGBT characters as comic relief instead of having them be authentic. It's very humanizing to see LGBT people existing in media without being the butt of the joke. Straight people wouldn't have the same reactions to seeing other straight couples because they're pretty much everywhere and have been normalized for their entire lives. Hope that clears it up a bit!

I am gobsmacked at the generosity the Americans are showing the British here. They are not getting any of the benefits of the show but are voluntarily allowing them to film themselves as a warning to others, complete strangers, so that they live a better life. I cannot fathom allowing a film crew and a total stranger in my house to film me bathing as a warning to others. Absolutely stunned at the kindness and patience allowing them to read off medications, medical history, ask invasive questions and humble themselves in the most compromising ways.
