@torahnoah54454 жыл бұрын
@@avianpegasus3335 I get that, but honestly, I think the scaring method isn't usually effective or necessary. As someone who grew up in a low-income and overweight area, P.E. class was always trying to use the scaring method with shows like "Honey We're Killing Our Kids" but it didn't help. I think the advice felt distant, since it's all about things that happen in your body, things you can't see, instead of making it feel relatable.

Agree. They both understood they were in the clinic to help and support each other because they *both* had a problem and *both* had disastrous diets. I'm having trouble believing that she put on all of that weight by just going only 800 calories overboard. The binging inbetween meals has to be alot more than what they showed. Alot more, because there's just no way she has one of the lowest calorie intakes while being just as obese as the others.

oh, I feel the teeth thing soooo hard man. I had terrible teeth since I was like 7 and I never smiled or ate around people because of it. I got braces eventually, but still, I hated it.

I feel so bad that people bullied Nick. That is so wrong. You can just tell it hurts him. Poor guy. He is very nice looking,even though his teeth are bad. It wouldn’t bother me at all. But how did he lose a half a stone?! That’s insane! I feel really bad for him. Hope he’s gained
@uhohstinky90403 жыл бұрын
it’s probably because of “reverse dieting”; his metabolism was slow because he barely ate, since he started eating more, it sped up again

I started using smaller plates a long time ago. It has helped me to really appreciate and understand portion control. I get it though, my husband panics if he thinks he's not getting enough on his plate. I've also been told that I don't cook enough food at once.

Why am I overweight? 1)Fat Phobia 2)Calorie Fear 3)Hidden sugars 4)Fear of Hunger 5)Slip up so screw it 1)Fat Phobia Natural Diatary Fat is not responsible for cholesterol or heart disease or obesity. We've eaten it since day dot. Dont avoid it, it's filling, tasty and good for you but also don't force it by having extra fat bombs etc between meals If your hungry between meals include more natural fat in your next meal along with natural fatty meats/fish and natural complex non starchy carbs (vegetables) 2)Calorie Fear Content is FAR more important. Eat meals comprised of Natural foods, including natural fat, slowly, till you are satisfied but not stuffed then stop regardless of calorie count. (if stupidly large portions are an issue research correct amounts but having 2 large meals no snacks a day should naturally correct your appetite) Remember your body does not posses a calorie counter, it react to food by releasing insulin in the required amounts according to the content of that food High sugar/highly processed carbohydrate = more and longer lasting insulin = longer spent in fat storing mode. 3)Hidden sugar Sugar, in any one of its 56+ forms, is in over 90% of supermarket products. So aim for Natural foods rather than highly processed 'food-like' foods. Remember that more than 5g sugar per 100g of product is a high sugar product. And also combinations of sugar + fat are the absolute WORST for spiking insulin (cakes, cookies, biscuits, pastries, etc) 4)Fear of Hunger Excess fat cells produce excess Leptin Leptin is the hormone of saitey. A bit extra Leptin tells us to naturally eat less for a while A lot extra Leptin causes resistance to build and the 'eat less' message is lost. As you metabolise the excess fat your Leptin resistance will heal and the message will return. Hunger will pass in waves and will not cause you any physical harm. Drink a glass of water, go for a walk, remind yourself of your goals and occupy yourself till the hunger passes. 5)Slip up so screw it "I've had a bite so I may as well eat the whole thing, and this other thing, and that other thing...." One bite does NOT have to turn into a feeding frenzy. Forgive yourself, breath in for 5 seconds and out for 5 seconds, do that a few times over and then think of your goals and move on with your day.

I’m curious why they don’t show the under eaters someone who is dying from anorexia same as they show the overeaters, people dying from obesity
@herbsandmagick45324 жыл бұрын
Likely because most (though not all) of the superskinnies don’t show signs of anorexia. Anorexia is not a body type, it is a mental illness.
@herbsandmagick45324 жыл бұрын
- The treatment is wildly different because it manifests differently. The superskinnies typically stop eating for reasons of laziness (on average), whereas restrictive eating disorders cause a person to limit intake for other reasons. Part of why the supersize meets even-more-obese person is because they share commonalities not only in body type, but in behavior and thought processes. That is not the same for superskinny and restrictive eating disorder. Because the reasons for reduced intake are so wildly different, it wouldn’t “hit home” for the superskinny. That’s why Dr Christian usually just shows the superskinny their own body and health issues.

That’s an awful idea. As someone who has an eating disorder, seeing someone who was skinnier than me, especially in person, would be so triggering. Also, as Herbs and Magick said, the reasons for undereating are very different for superskinnies and anorexics.
