@@zomgkb exactly, Julie also critiqued her own overeating. While watching this, the female narrator mentioned Julie’s weight on two occasions but never mentioned Zoe’s. Hmmm, I wonder why, perhaps she thinks Zoe is fine the way she is ??? When they show the supersized participants they tell us how overweight they are, but rarely mention how underweight the super skinny are. Would be nice if they were treated equally, both have eating disorders, and glossing over the underweight participants is the wrong message to put out there. And just in case anyone wonders, no I don’t have an eating disorder, nor am I overweight. It’s just that the comments posted regarding the overweight on this series is terrible. But, boy oh boy, the praise for the super skinny is ridiculous. Many, many, of the posters believe that the super skinny do not have an eating disorder, and that, is, absolutely flabbergasting to me. Anyhow, that’s just my opinion.

Zoe definitely has sensory issues around food, I'm on the spectrum and I do the same thing. I wish they wouldn't shame her for that and just encourage her to eat more portions or show her it's ok to eat the foods seperately if they're healthy.
@ismellupdog2 жыл бұрын
For sure. I'm the same way; I've got some other issues with eating but part of it is that I can't stand certain textures and smells + trying new foods terrifies me (its an autism thing for me as well) I cycle through the same few foods for every meal and people constantly diminish it by saying Im just picky. It's so stressful to try to force myself to power though, I feel physically ill if I try to
@Ellie-rx3jt2 жыл бұрын
It seems to be a running trend with the women on the show (both super size and super skinny) that is never addressed, at least on camera. Saskia, who pretty much only ate Caribbean or highly spiced food and literally cried and couldn't stomach plain porridge despite being incredibly hungry, was highly relatable to me as an autistic person. I hope that there's support for them and discussions about potential sensory processing disorders behind the scenes.
@frivolityrestores96082 жыл бұрын
Me too in on the spectrum and my mom brothers and my kids. My mom used to be skinnier than Zoe she needed to be force fed at one point. It's nothing to do with vanity. You can be born with it near enough. My elder has severe ASD and he doesn't even drink water. ... he can't be left alone for even 2 minutes or he's a danger to himself. He's not violent but he does things that would inevitably hurt him like walk into traffic. Anyway he has a severe eating disorder since age 1. Because he had severe reflux and combiner with other things. Till now we are ecstatic if he eats anything. He has a g tube. He was skin and bones. It was like a picture of the starved ppl in a besieged city suffering from war, his state. With g tube he improved.

ive personally never seen anyone be made fun over either lunch but she was straight up body shamed and made fun of over every food decision she made the whole first half of her life, not trying to be rude being im really confused but why are you acting llike she forced herself to be victim of bullying when its quite evident she literally was bullied for like 10 yeas straighr? if she were fat youd see the harm no doubt, being called anorexic because you don't pack your own food and for being nautrally skinny and eating with the struggle of being a picky eater isnt easy and consistntly being mocked over it made her embaressed to et because she felt stupid and wrong. im a picky eater and have been bullied by everyone at least once and makes me want to go hungry so i don't need to deal with rude comments. not everyone who is small or a picky eater is anorexic or has an eating disorder sometimes its the food tastes gross or it looks and smells bad so it makes you not want to eat it or sometimes it mkes you feel sick with out being bad (rotten/improperly cooked) or an allergy. she developed a food anxiety because of all the negativity she faced around food, not wantng people to see watch her eat so they couldnt comment on her choices or portions, i know a girl whos thick not fat though who refuses to eat in resturants or around new people because she feels gross and guilty for enjoying food and not being a size 2 or smaller. i hve tmj so it made me self conscience eating around people because i cant move or open my mouth normally and i also have gastritis so that makes my list of foods smaller and makes me self conscience because i dont want people see me be sick from eating something that decides to set me off and i don't like people seeing my diet

Fear is a powerful motivator. One of my wake up moments was having to go to the dentist after a summer of bad eating in 2020, doomscrolling and doordashing, not only did I feel weird in my car seat after not being in it for months due to quarantine, but when the dentist leaned me back to work on a molar I couldn't breath!!! I realized I was at an unhealthy weight and started watching my 600 lb life as a motivator to get my health back. It worked! I lost all the quarantine weight and more. This show is great because it helps you see how people perceptions are skewed...even when you lose weight your self image can remain quite distorted for a while.

Understand what she meant for not wanting to eat in front of people. I was like 98lbs when I was 24 because I was allergic to so many foods. I finally gained weight when I was pregnant with my oldest, finding food alternative and was scared to under eat. Now my two are teens and I am having to diet to lose 20lbs. It is a struggle.

I noticed a lot of comments about Zoe not being a superskinny but I think the issue with her was the quality of her diet rather than her size. With the food plan the discussions with the Doctor I felt like he mainly wanted her to shift away from processed high sat fat food to healthier foods so she would better and have more energy naturally.

4:00 they talk about having to cut them up to make them fit, but something else I wish he had talked about is that flash fires that occur when cremating someone of that size, the grease that comes out of a morberly obese person, and even sometimes just an obese person can and will cause over heating of the machine and potentially cause a flash burn / flash fire inside the machines. Generally when cremation occurs while there is smoke it's really not that dense however when cremating and obese / morally obese person and it causes the flash heating/burning, you end up with a very dark cloud that comes from the crematoriums that almost make it look like the building is on fire.

I'm wondering if it might be a case of obese people being shocked by seeing something more obese and disabled than them and not wanting to become that way, whereas someone with an eating disorder like anorexia might actually be inspired to lose more weight by seeing someone even skinnier than them, which is why thinspo is such a a big thing in the anorexia community. And I feel like it would be more difficult to find someone more underweight who can talk about 'if you continue you'll end up like me' like the extremely obese ones because they're lives take a different course, because they'd either still be denying they have a problem or already be dying or already be in recovery. You can't just find someone right in the middle whenever you'd be filming.
