you know Stevie Wrote this with jeff in mind but when he saw it could be a hit, he didn't give it to him gave Jeff "Cause we've ended as lovers(my favorite Jeff BEck song)" and recorded Superstition himself.

I see two comments claiming that Wonder actually wrote this for Beck, but was told to release it himself. Whether or not this is true, each of these masters have their own, very different, and not very compatible styles. Once this song was released in Wonder's style, belatedly trying to mix 'Superstitious' with Beck's wild electric guitar and use of the wang bar does not work (and I'm an avid Beck fan). The horns remain better suited for this song.

Wonder actually wrote this song for Beck, but Berry Gordy insisted that he release it himself. Beck did his own version on the Beck Bogert and Appice album.
