Thank you have been thinking of implementing box squats soon. One comment about doing half versus full squats though. I find that if I have an "rpe" in mind I will need a lot more weight to get the equivalent in a half versus full squat.

I've been going heavy on box squats for about 1 year, it has increased the stability of my whole midsection. Just did 4 reps of 455 last week and it felt great! it translates really well in deadlift and helps stability of the regular deep squat. it also just feels good to get a lot of weight on the back without having to think very much

Man I have the deep hip socket, and now after chronic injuries etc, I'm front squatting with the squat wedges and these are pretty high they may add up to two inches to my heel, but if I don't use em I gotta bent over so my hip closes pre parallel so they feel amazing even with baby weights

Grats on 207 good sir! Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. (Pun intended)

Please, can someone tell me what brand that massage tool at minute 6:55 that hangs on the bar is called? That specific one, been looking and looking...

At age 70, I've now latched onto 2 leg exercises, that at least for me, feel VERY effective.... belt squats and single leg squats(think lunge, in stationary position). The belt squat is modified using my ssb, what I find effective is the effect is has on my hips, and it directly hits my quads in ways I never felt doing regular squats. And the single leg squat is just so I can say I do squats with a bar on my back. I don't know why, but those 2 movements do not hurt my psoriatic arthritic knees, but it does keep me mobile & functional..... works all the muscles I need for surviving old age. I MIGHT toss some of these in now for shits 'n' giggles later.

I like the idea of doing full depth with low or no weight and heavy shorter range

Hey Mark, what do you think is the best sled around $100 for street/pavement use? I almost pulled the trigger for the one on your website but I saw roadwork would void the warranty
@killtop5 күн бұрын
I’m not mark but rogue has good quality sleds from 100-150 range. I have one from them that cost 135 and I’ve had it for years and it’s held up great and the weight horn folds down so it’s easy to Throw in my trunk or slide under somewhere to store it

Calling BS on those weights in the Kobe squatting clip. Notice him pushing the bar up off his shoulders at the top of the rep lol

especially at that speed, the bar has no reason to stop moving at the top until gravity slows it, it happens to me sometimes and I end up with red marks on my traps. Especially when the bar has wip it can really be moving around . . . and I'm just a regular guy at the gym. pretty sure an elite athlete can move 400-500 lbs around like its nothing.

What happened to him? I always watched him and I bought shoes that he made. He looks so thin now. Hopefully he has not had health issues. Because I always found him very friendly and he has great knowledge.

He’s healthier now. He eats cleaner and trains a little different now compared to the powerlifting. He’s lean now. If you watched till the end of the video you would see ol boy looks good with his shirt off.

@@shawnthomasbrown3867 Yeah to me he looked healthier before. He looks very skinny now. It seems like most of his muscles are gone. I was very surprised when I came across this video. But if he feels good that is the most important.

Although watching it more it was just the shock of seeing him again after so many years. I hope I haven't affronted him. You look great and in shape.
