I know you avoid NJ at all costs but we’re the home of jug handles and circles (or rotaries or roundabouts) depending on where you are from. Always remember you have to turn right to turn left. Only in NJ!

Exactly, Jeff. I knew when I saw the title that I wouldn't be the first ex-Jersiite to comment on the jug handles. I remember when they were a "big, new thing" when I first saw them as a little boy, way bag when tires first started being inflated with air instead of solid rubber LoL. I live in the Philippines now and traffic here is brutal in the cities. All the major streets have "turn right to turn left" intersections, but there is almost never space or budget for a jug handle. You just turn right and then make a U-turn in a dedicated lane in the next block or so. How does a semi make a U-turn in such a restricted space? Start all the way over in the lane against the curb and patiently creep forward across all the lanes, through the center barrier and then wind up in the far curb lane on the other side. Takes a while and it's kind of fun to watch, but it can't be much fun for the driver. Makes New Jersey roads look like heaven. Be well.

Awesome to see ya back in the Mitten. For the left turns, it’s treated like turning right on red. After a full stop and traffic is clear, you are allowed to turn even if the light is red.

Yes, U can complete the turn! Obviously, unless posted No turn On Red! At a "Regular Intersection" the Red Light MUST BE Flashing, to Turn Left When it's Clear! But Michigan, like my beloved Florida here, allows you to Turn Right on Red ! (Solid! It Does Not have to be Blinking! But to turn Left, it either MUST be Green or Arrow and or a Blinking Red! ) So hope that answers your question Dan! :) I grew up in Michigan. Also am from Florida too! So guess I'm considered a "Snowbird" now! Lol! Anyway, hope that helps! :)

Hey Dan to solve your turning radius issues what you need to do or I'd recommend doing is converting that lift axle to a electric and manual where is it electric doesn't work you can still manually work it that way in your cab even if you have that axle up you can electrically drop it and then dump your rear axle like you used to do make your turn on the front axle and then matter of flipping a switch your front axle goes back up obviously you've already drop the rear axle back down or aired it back up on me if I knew how to attach pictures I would show you the pictures of drop axles on a quad spread 9 from the cab you can raise and lower the front three axles and the rear axle you can only dump the air it will only allow you to dump the air if the third axle from the front or the second axle from the rear is down that is how I have wired that way you can't dump the are from the rear axle unless that II from the rear axle is down it has to be down in order for the rear axle to dump the rest have no effect

If the light is red you have to wait for a signal change. The only red light one can only proceed on is a flashing red light. The Michigan turn around was designed to reduce left turn lane traffic at the intersections. Hope this helps.

i didn't like Chicago either, but i learned one thing, never try to go thru Chicago early Monday morn, as traffic is backed up to the Illinois/Iowa state line. (almost) best to go thru the night before and find a spot east of the city to park.

People from Michigan....please explain the intersection at 4:01 (seen again at 10:39). It's hard to tell if those are flashing red or yellow lights (or both depending where you're coming from). It seems the traffic on the main road has a flashing yellow....so turning left yields to oncoming traffic as is common. And the traffic coming from the side streets have flashing red...so treat as a two-way stop. Am I wrong?

Dan, another great video. Just wondered if you ever get problems with the casing on the turbos in the CAT ? Tan 2 C12 & 2 C15 CATs and they all cracked the cast housing but the actual turbos were ok, you could only buy them from CAT and they were extortionate.
