As an official with our union I was bargaining with GSA in new office space for a Georgia office. A blind employee had a service dog named Bailey. We bargained for four hours over Bailey’s space where she would lie beside the employee as he worked. GSA didn’t want to allow open space above Bailey’s bed. We were adamant and Bailey and her human were accommodated. It made a difference to Bailey that she would be comfortable. Bailey was a good dog. She mattered.

When I pulled flatbed I always had a 6 ft long 2×2, to stick between the rub rails and the fork lift. No matter how many time you tell them they always will run into the rub rails. Good luck!

You know Dan, you obviously make every effort to keep your rig in prime operating condition. I'm well aware how expensive aluminum trailers are, it's ridiculous that a careless fork operator with a sucked attitude, damaged your flawless trailer, and doesn't face consequences? That company definitely owes you some compensation as far as I'm concerned. On the lighter side, that was great watching you give Bailey a bath 🐶🙂

I know the feeling the owner operator I drove for had a new 51’ step deck and delivered a load with it to the base in Norfolk VA and the busted the rub rail with the fork lift it took four hours to get it straight out with all the paper work to make sure they would pay for the repairs be safe out there 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I understand what it is like to go to a facility to pick up and there are no signs or visible display to notify you of what to do. When you get out of truck to talk you are yelled at and then they do not understand why the driver snaps back at them. I do not think they understand what being a truck driver really entails . I think anyone that has an automobile license should have to ride with a truck driver for 8 hours in a fairly congested area to see first hand what it takes and then maybe it might sink in. Thanks for the great videos and keep practicing your cool and calm attitude , which proves you are a professional driver. Peace

Hello,, just a suggestion,, I would take a couple of wooden or plastic wedges and put between the trailer and the flat bar,, push the dent back out,, use a plastic or hard rubber hammer and work both sides of the dent,, should make it look better.. I enjoy your adventures,, Thanks

Hook the bungie the other way. If the wind catches the small strap (the way you have it), it could rotate the hook enough to possibly come loose.

You could buy you one of those clips that people put their key rings on and clip it to their belt loop for their keys to put on that door plus that would keep it from accidentally coming off because you would have to make a button and pull the spring back for it to come off

Hello from Brisbane Australia. Once again a cool video. I'm afraid that there are rude people every where you go. No matter if you are driving or even in public. Was thinking that maybe you could get a couple Carabiner for you latches on you tool boxes. A friend of mine drives a Wood Chip truck that has rear container doors and they use them to secure the latches. Have a great day and stay safe.

Safe Travels. I can remember on the return from a family trip to Arkansas long, long ago to visit relatives we came back through Vicksburg before the I-20 bridge had been completed, they were still working on it. We & EB traffic were stopped on the old bridge midstream to allow WB semi’s to corkscrew down from Vicksburg. Looked over & saw an iron worker w/no safety equipment except for his hard hat walking nonchalantly across the very top of the superstructure like he was walking in the park on a Sunday afternoon. Have crossed the I-20 bridge many a time going to/from Texas seeing relatives. The area above the old bridge is a wonderful place to catch trains crossing the bridge. Give Miss Bailey hugs, smooches, & scratches behind each ear. Do as she says, she who must be obeyed…..

my uncle use to buy hay in the US and sell it in Canada. he had this neat little tool that checked the moisture content in a bale of hay. if it was too moist he wouldn't buy it as it would be too "wet" by the time it reached the receiver. if you've ever smelled wet hay, you'd know what i meant. even cows wouldn't eat it nor sleep on it, although most ranchers and farmers used straw for cattle bedding.

Truck and trailer looking good Dan , For sure Bailey's thinking you are the best dad 😁 Well that is a bummer the fork lift driver doing that , What I call them is a unprofessional forklift Driver , Them are a nice design of a lock on your boxes , They need to redesign them that will not happen , For sure a bungee cord works , but it looks tacky as hades , be safe take care yourselves DAN
@philipburrows2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dan What you could do is get a bungy strap and hook it up to both latches and if the bungy is too long put a knot in it to shorten the bungy to give it some tension just enough to keep it in place but slack enough to remove it, this is set between the top latch and the bottom one. The other way is to see if the bottom latch can be rotated around to match the top one that is if the mechanism inside can be flipped to work in reverse mode to how the top latch works.

Dan Dan the professional flat deck man. As Dan already knows poop rolls down hill and it always lands on the driver. It should be mandatory when you first drive on to a customers yard there is a board explaining what they expect from the driver and given good directions on where to go. I have driven into places that you have a hard time finding the door to get into the building to even ask someone where do I go to get this loaded on my truck. I have seen over and over many times forklift operators damaging trailers and nothing is ever done. That operator should have left room so he could tilt his boom. Boy that big bunk sure is the way to travel. How did guys do it years back only in coffin sleepers, gone for weeks at a time, driving old B-61 Mack’s with 5&4’s. That’s when men were men and sheep were nervous. Anywho Dan bloved the music and the video. Have yourself a great and a safe day. Happy tails and happy motoring.
