I think the biggest obstacle is working with insurance companies with Erie/Liberty Mutual that have switched to Simbility instead of Xactimate. Would love to see a video on how to overcome Simbility pricing.

Hey Shane, MTRoofHustle's comment was great. Drew covers this in detail in the new Supplement Strategy :) But yes, Simbility does not include any profit in their scopes. The whitepaper they provide is mission critical. It is also included in the Supplement Strategy.

Love to hear more about roofl loading. We always send up our own shingles

I've had insurance pay for rotten decking because we need to have a nailable surface per manufacturer specifications, and if we don't follow the manufacturer specifications they wont honor any warranty.

Most policies exclude rot so it’s hard to fight the nailable surface argument
@noahcalhoun39642 жыл бұрын
@@sholls_23 I've ran into that as well, whats worked for me in the past is explaining that the damage and covered peril is not from rotting wood. So that exclusion for rotting wood has no relevance. The covered peril is for wind or hail. Normally by this point they have approved it to be replaced. As a result of access, since they have approved the roof to be replaced. Per local Building code and manufacturer specifications. They owe for the wood to be replaced so that we have a nailable surface for the new roofing system.

Thanks Drew and Adam for this deep dive! In regards to the roof loading, would the roof loading be included in the "labor" portion of the line item? I'm just thinking this is what the adjusters will tell me when I present them with this request. If feel like I'll get the ole "I've never paid for that before"

That’s what I’ve been told. Any rebuttals

I swear I gave this guy a ride when I used to drive for Uber in Denver. He mentioned this software when we connected on both being in the roofing industry. I’ll check it out!

WOW! great video. One question about labor for moving shingles and maybe anyone could answer this. Shouldn't we also get paid labor hrs for carrying shingles to the dump trailer on 8/12 - 12/12 pitch when shingle tear off has to be tossed to the ground.

I use the roofer per hour but have issues with getting approved. Any thoughts on presentation in the notes section of Xactimate for the roofing loaders topic. Thank you

Hey guys, I have a question about supplementing for a High Grade Laminate shingle (Duration Series) shingle using code upgrades. Most cities around me require a minimum wind speed requirement of 115 MPH in the building design criteria. According to IRC 2018 R905.2.6, OC Oakridge shingles are not permitted to be installed (even though they offer a 6 nail pattern). Drew spoke into having this line item "High Grade Laminate Shingle" when duration is existing. Have you guys had any luck getting this line item supplemented on a policy which holds ordinance and law coverage?

On the roof loading subject, what do you typically charge? Per sq, per man hr and how much?
@TheRoofStrategist Жыл бұрын
Hey A Plus Team! I believe Drew went into this during his guest appearance in the Pitch Pro Movement. Pop in there and take a look. If my memory serves me right - you can bill per man hour. There are different rates for roofer laborer vs general labor. Use roofer.
