Surf Fishing Rocky Point, Mexico (Shore Fishing the Ocean in Puerto Peñasco)

Take a quick drive with us from Arizona to Mexico, and enjoy some saltwater surf fishing at Rocky Point (Puerto Peñasco) for Spotted Sand Bass, Triggerfish, and other species in this beautiful little gulf of the Pacific Ocean! My buddy and I caught a few fish using cutbait, and then most of the other fish using spinners and spoons. I know there are bigger and more awesome fish there... and I'll be back!

@KevinRapkochFishing at the reef! Was with a walmart arrow broadtip duct taped to a stick lol, only got a few sting rays because we jammed um on the sea floor. We're going back in june with spear gun and pole spears. We had no luck angling but saw locals with heaps of fish just by fishing off that rip rap there at the reef

@@landonschumaker6404 ill be there the first week of june! maybe you can teach me lol. I'll be the bald large blond man with a wife and 2 small kids and a 45cm cressi. I don't know how deep it gets, and I'm pretty much a newb spearo. we never really went beyond 10ft of depth or so, but seems the furhter out we went the bigger the fish. was a very strong fishery, saw a local guy who had a small shopping cart stacked with fish he got within just a few hours of angle fishing after work, tho we passed him on the road, he was walking it home and was stopped by the police so i imagine they may enforce the national fishing laws. i read for spearing the limit is 5 a day compared to 20 for anglers, which seems bs to me. I never got hassled by locals, just the gringos staying at wrecked at the reef were bothered and shocked by me carrying a homemade spear thru the beach dining area at Wrecked, the management was totally cool, I asked them at the door if i could walk my stick with a broadhead arrow ductaped to it, they said come on thru, even encouraging us to enjoy spearing in the surf. had gringos walking up and gawking at the fish brought ashore. the mexicans were all totally cool tho.

Hey! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment. I was told (and read) that you do not need a license/permit for shore fishing; but if you fish from any type of boat/vessel, then you need a permit. I did not have a license or permit, and I know numerous people who shore fish there without license/permits without issues. 🙂✌️🎣

I put the items I used in the description of the video and tried to explain my rigs there; but basically, I used 20lb braid, and sometimes would union knot a 10-15 lb mono/fluoro leader. 🙂🙂✌️🎣
