Moving to Cali? My Aussie wife and kids are relocating from California to Central Coast, NSW this July 2022. She hasn’t seen her family in 4 years! Eventually, I plan to open a physio/fitness clinic that also caters to surfers and that is all decked out with surf gear. When you come back to Aus it would be great to meet. You’ll also have a free place to stay and train if you want! Love your videos Cris.

Dr. Breese, thank you! yeah, maybe California, although it looks like 22' is shaping up to have a lot of travel in the first half, and then perhaps Indonesia for the 2nd half, so time shall tell. currently I'm not willing to go back to Oz until they have some consistency with their overseas travel allotments and processes. I have too much work need to get on airplanes! Enjoy central coast!

Hi Dr Breese. Have you opened up your clinic yet on the Central Coast? If so, can you provide some info/link? Thanks.

Totally understand that’s it’s been a tuff couple of years. I moved to SA 4 years ago & so hard to get back home to Qld to see family. Hopefully things get better here in Aus & you get back here!
@SurfStrengthCoach2 жыл бұрын
thank you. I hope to not give people the wrong impression. I love living in Australia, and will come back, but currently with ongoing personal life stuff, and a complete inability to travel or see family, and personally having minimal to zero support (mentally, emotionally, friends) here in australia, I'm bailing. I'll get back to oz eventually, but I'll be based out of the US for a period to time so I can work in central america and indonesia. Best of luck to you, and I hope you get to see your family soon!

That's a whole lot of overlap. How about a 7'2" gun for those double overhead plus days. Maybe a high performance long board or a midlength (not a 6'4", I'm talking 7'+)for your second surf of the day, its a back saver. Why should everybody have a foamie? Seems like there would always be a better alternative to me. Been following your exercise videos for many years, your helping me keep ripping at 50 yo. Hang in there and keep up the good work.

Wow your point on lumbar spine struggles and wide point etc on surfboard. If one wants lower lumbar extension what's your take on board design
@SurfStrengthCoach2 жыл бұрын
foam can certainly help, but it's more about proper stretching and positioning. if certain tissues are pulling you into excessive extension, they likely need to be addressed and then awareness of positioning and strengthening. this is actually something I've done a lot of via consultation online with clients that have spondylolisthesis issues

Hey mate. Did you find putting a pad on the fish beard helped at all? I’m not 100% sold on mine.
@SurfStrengthCoach2 жыл бұрын
helped in terms of what? this was actually the first twinny in a while I had a pad on. I think I could probably easily surf it without one, but it's also nice to have that reference point for the foot.
@brantrichardson19492 жыл бұрын
I really like it when I feel my foot hit the tail kick of the pad, I KNOW where my foot is. For short, wide, fishy boards you need that back foot all the way back. Then again, sometimes you see people with pad placed wrong and you know its screwing them up.

HeyChris, love your pop up vids and training tips. Off to Bali/Lombok in the fall. I surfed there 10 years ago for 6 weeks solid and have not surfed much since then. Any tips on what board would be a good for me. I will be there for a month. I am fit but not paddle fit. Caught a lot of waves back 10 years ago. I thought a fish/hybrid with 32L might be a good start point but would love to hear what you have to say.

@sylvar0one2 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, do you find your softboards harder to duck dive?
@SurfStrengthCoach2 жыл бұрын
not really, but my foamy's aren't very high in volume. it's a volume issue that makes boards harder or easier to duck dive. most foamy boards inherently have way more volume.

the trolling from the surf world is truly some of the lamest and least creative on the internet. a complete lack of whit or intelligence. I simply envision a drooling washed up surfer, reliving their high school dreams, now sitting at a desk, calling me a kook in a drawled out slur while smoking a cigarette.
